Job summary

As a finance Associate within the Hong Kong Legal Entity Controller Team, you will play a crucial role in monitoring the financial performance of one of the key regulated entities in Hong Kong and be responsible for timely and accurate creation of financial and regulatory reports for internal stakeholders as well as regulators. You will be at the forefront to analyze and implement changes for new products and regulatory update. This role provides an opportunity to work closely with various stakeholders both internal and external.

  • Oversee month-end closing process to ensure accurate and complete closing of books & records, perform analytical review to identify any significant misstatement on P&L / Balance sheet, liaise with business managers / controllers to identify business drivers for significant variances
  • Monitor the actual performance of businesses and support functions against entities plan
  • Prepare annual statutory accounts and financial reports
  • Prepare regulatory returns and regulatory disclosures
  • Monitor compliance with various regulatory limits
  • Perform impact analysis for new regulations and implement changes to regulatory reporting processes
  • Work with LOB Business Manages/ Controllers to assess the regulatory implications on new businesses and products
  • Ad hoc queries and projects as required

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Accounting/Finance background - with experience in accounting (US GAAP/IFRS) and HKMA regulatory reporting preferred;
  • 5plus years relevant post graduate professional experience;
  • Experience with HKMA regulations/reporting is required
  • Effective and confident communicator
  • Control and efficiency mindset along with attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, able to work under pressure and multiple deliverables with competing deadlines
  • Good team player
  • Proficiency in English and Chinese

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Proficient in excel and digital tools (Alteryx; Unipath etc.)
