As a Lead Solutions Analyst for FinOps at JP Morgan Chase's Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and AIML Data platforms (AMDP) team, you will advise and oversee the Cloud Financial DevOps (FinOps) initiatives, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective use of cloud resources. You will develop, implement and report on cloud financial governance and cost management strategies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize cloud spend and support the Firm's financial goals in both public and private cloud environments.

Job responsibilities

  • Helps define a vision, strategy, roadmap, governance model and execution plans for cost management in cloud for our AI/ML environment and technologies.
  • Leads cross-functional efforts to streamline cloud spend across AWS and other cloud platforms, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising performance and scalability.
  • Works with various FinOps practitioners and SMEs within the firm, and develop a cost management framework and best practices tailored to AIML Data Platforms (AMDP) cloud usage, balancing agility with fiscal discipline.
  • Collaborates with finance, product, and engineering teams to foster a cost-aware culture, articulating the financial impact of cost as a non-functional requirement in architectural decisions.
  • Identifies cost optimization opportunities and partner with cloud architects and application leads to implement solutions.
  • Reports monthly on cost savings measures and cloud computing services consumption costs for show-back/charge-back to respective business units.
  • Stays informed on the latest cloud technologies and pricing structures, translating complex billing information into actionable insights for continuous financial optimization.
  • Serves as the AIML Data Platforms (AMDP) subject matter expert on cloud cost management, engaging with stakeholders to align cloud usage with business objectives while maximizing cost-effectiveness.
  • Helps develop business reviews and presentation materials for senior management regarding cloud cost management topics, including spend, growth, progress, and roadblocks.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in solutions analysis, technical program delivery, or a related field.
  • Strong financial/cloud management experience, including cloud services, pricing models, cloud bills and AWS cost management tools.
  • Good understanding of AI/ML fundamentals and latest trends.
  • Experience in both AI/ML and FinOps practices to effectively perform this role.
  • Experience with IaaS, PaaS and SaaS delivery models.
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines.
  • Experience influencing senior leaders, finance teams and technology contributors, adept at articulating complex problems to all levels.
  • Ability to inspire teams to drive change and efficiency across the organization.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Master's or bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering related field; or equivalent related professional experience.
  • FinOps Practitioner/FOCUS Certification
