The Fund Services Operations business in Asia is undertaking a program of continuous investment aimed at optimizing the Asia based technology and operating platforms. We are currently seeking a collaborative, hands-on and solution-focused Project Manager to work within a dedicated project team focusing on enhancing and growing our footprint in Asia. The team represents Operations in various work-stream(s) and is part of a broader project team that includes participants from Technology, Product Development as well as regional peer Operations project team(s) to support the implementation of new technology and client onboarding to our business platforms.

As a Project Manager - Associate within Fund Services Operations, you are responsible for conducting process reviews, developing to being an Operations SME to participate in the design of new processes, identifying operational impact and process improvement opportunities, leading the change program and overseeing the implementation. You will partner with key business and technology partners to analyze business/operational processes, identify business and operational requirements, oversee technology build, manage user testing, and coordinate solution implementation. You are accountable for providing senior management comprehensive project updates.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide business and data analysis to large, cross line of business initiatives; analyze and document key business discussions and requirements, manage timelines, risks, issues, and dependencies tracking action items and other project related materials
  • Support the overall project, including co-ordination of resources, priorities, issues and risks, scheduling, stakeholder communication and post implementation reviews as relevant
  • Provide project or business analysis support as necessary on other projects (e.g. client/product on-boarding)
  • Lead change and become the Ops Lead for the assigned focus area for both current state & future state, ensure detailed documentation of workflows, independently learn new functionality and be able to identify / explain any methodology variances or gaps throughout project
  • Initiate overall readiness to connecting downstream applications: e.g. (i) Investment analytics: understand performance calculation methodology & re-design data mapping logic within analytics platform (ii) Investment Compliance: ability to interpret investment mandates, decipher existing "rules" / participate in design of future rules as part of investment mandate monitoring service (iii) Client reporting; ability to understand client current requirements and through impact analysis, identify the business requirements for technology enhancements on associated reporting platforms
  • Participate and be involved with testing cycles as relevant to work-stream including designing testing approach & creating test plans, documentation of results and gaps identified
  • Perform impact analysis of operational / reporting changes imposed; analyze & investigate potential solutions/options, support the write up of business requirements and other project related documentation

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree with major in Information System, Accounting / Finance / Business Administration / Economics, or related disciplines
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience within the finance industry, knowledge of financial products / accounting and finance principles
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills with operational experience and track record in designing client solutions
  • Logical, problem-solving & technical analyst with ability to piece together the end-to-end processes through gathering information from each functional areas
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication. Fluency in English and effective communicator
  • Ability to work flexible hours, work independently and collaborate with various stakeholders and regional teams

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Highly motivated, execution driven, flexible & versatile character with ability to influence and negotiate for results
  • Strong end to end ownership, governance, controls, risks and dependency management
  • Ability to work both independently, cope with multiple priorities and taking clear ownership for delivery, and collaborate with team
  • A positive can-do attitude - adaptable, versatile and able to manage ambiguity
  • Proficiency in Mandarin/Cantonese is advantageous
