As an External Reporting Associate within the External Reporting Team, you will oversee financial statements and management reporting to ensure a sound control environment. You will validate balance sheet items and apply accounting treatments in compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements. Your role will be pivotal in coordinating quarterly regulatory requirements and monitoring the +$2 trillion balance sheet for the Commercial and Investment Bank. Job Responsibilities:
- Apply up-to-date product, industry, and market knowledge in reporting.
- Consolidate, review, and analyze quarterly financial data for accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate data collection and quarterly business results with various lines of business, Regulatory Controllers, and SEC reporting teams.
- Assist in the thorough assessment of issues and outcomes.
- Clearly communicate financial information to lines of business and flag potential issues.
- Participate in the production, review, and filing of reports with regulatory agencies.
- Adhere to proof and control procedures to ensure accurate reconciliation between filings.
- Ensure accurate and complete data submission to regulators.
- Interpret and define regulatory and SEC requirements and coordinate policies.
- Establish and manage relationships with business lines and external regulatory agencies.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts, including automation projects.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- 5 years in a finance organization with exposure to accounting, financial statements, or regulatory reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or an accounting qualification.
- Strong skills in time management, problem-solving, and communication.
- Team player with the ability to work effectively across diverse functions and locations.
- Excellent Excel and computer skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Extremely strong organizational and time management skills.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Experience in Product Control, Financial Control, or knowledge of SEC/Regulatory Reporting.
- Project management experience or skills.
