The Bank Controller, Accounting Policy and Reporting (BCAPR) organization consists of the Bank Controller, Corporate Accounting Policy, Regulatory Reporting Policy, Interentity Analysis, Quality Review & Control and SEC Reporting teams.
As an Associate on the SEC Reporting team, you will contribute to the administration and production of SEC filings, including the Form 8-K and Earnings Release Financial Supplement, the Form 10-Q, and the Annual Report on the Form 10-K. The team also releases files to the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission (via Wdesk). If you are analytical and interested in being part of a collaborative team, you found the right place. Job responsibilities:
- Participate in the preparation of financial reports (e.g., Annual Report/Form 10-K, Form 10-Q, Quarterly Earnings Release and Financial Supplement, Form 8-K) and ensure disclosures comply with U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) and U.S. GAAP requirements and are deemed \"best-in-class"
- Perform accounting research related to current and future US GAAP standards
- Review quarterly and annual disclosures for a line of business which involves working directly with the business partner to understand and corroborate disclosure information
- Facilitate quarterly meetings with business partners and senior management
- Prepare financial reports filed with the SEC, including but not limited to:
- Work with the applicable Financial Controller teams, Corporate Accounting Policies, and applicable LOB/Functional groups to prepare financial reports
- Participate in the review of financial reports for compliance with accounting and reporting standards, perform variance analysis, and XBRL
- Assist with the maintenance of SOX controls
- Maintain high quality documentation to ensure SEC Reporting's compliance with the Firm's Sarbanes-Oxley program
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- 2 years of experience in technical accounting, strong research skills and proficient in computer navigation and Microsoft environment
- MBA or BS in Finance or Accounting
- Good verbal, written and listening skills
- Ability to work in teams and interface with senior management and staff
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, organizational and time management skills
- Self-motivated, creative problem-solver, and ability to work independently and keep all parties apprised of developments
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) a plus
- Accounting Research a plus
- Wdesk/ Workiva expertise a plus
