Asset & Wealth Management - Cashiering Analyst

The Check Settlements Team is responsible for (1) processing the release of outgoing checks and the deposit of incoming checks, (2) processing returns, voids and stops of payments; (3) processing reconciliation for both outgoing and incoming checks; and (4) the assistance to LOBs and other Operations Teams.

The activities include, although are not limited to, the review or incoming JPMS LLC checks, the release of check jobs - if applicable-, the process of return of funds of already deposited checks, the stop of payment for outgoing checks, the redeposit of funds for voided checks, and the balance and reconciliation of Operations domestic bank accounts, for both incoming and outgoing checks.

The Check Settlements Team is constantly searching and working on improvements and growth, such as automations or implementing industry changes in order to provide the customer a better experience. Every team member has the opportunity to suggest or participate in any ongoing project for innovation or automation.

The main aim is for every member to get an end to end knowledge of all the processes and functions performed in the department. In order to achieve this, cross training is implemented in a monthly basis, giving the team resiliency tools for back up.

Skill Development/required skills

    • Advanced written and oral English skills (used on daily basis with the US counterparties)
    • Client/customer focus.
    • Ability to prioritize workload from different sources.
    • Able to deal with deadlines to meet the daily cut offs.
    • Able to quickly adapt to different scenarios as per the internal client requirements, industry changes and procedures
    • Problem solving. Able to identify potential issues and find solutions to escalations that may arise.
