Acquisitions & Strategic Investments Group (A&SI) is a centralized global function within the Office of the Chief Financial Officer at JPMorgan Chase & Company (JPMC).

A&SI works with JPMC's lines of business to evaluate, structure, and execute potential acquisition, divestiture, and minority investment transactions. A&SI is also involved with a broad range of non-transaction activities (e.g., market monitoring/research, resolution and recovery, portfolio management) and various financial analyses to support strategic projects.

The team has individuals based in New York and London and is currently recruiting for a Business Management Analyst to join us in our mid-town New York location.

As a Business Management Analyst in A&SI, you will partner with the business and other functional partners including Finance, Legal, Valuation Control Group, Compliance and Principal Risk to support the business activities. Activities include participating in the analytics and preparation of the quarterly valuations and portfolio management presentations across all portfolio companies, producing key reports for senior management, on-boarding and managing data related to strategic investments and proactively looking for opportunities to streamline processes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide a high standard of business management support to the A&SI team including portfolio management, KPI tracking, adherence to published Standards and Procedures
  • Produce management reporting for senior management as well as portfolio reviews with JPMC LOB sponsors (including portfolio overviews, investment pipeline, performance metrics, etc.)
  • Participate in the analytics and the preparation of the valuations and portfolio management presentations across all portfolio companies
  • Identify areas for potential automation opportunities, plan and implement solutions
  • Develop ad-hoc analyses and deep dive reviews for senior management as necessary
  • Assist with Board seat appointment controls and tracking
  • Coordinate with Principal Risk, Oversight & Controls, Valuations Control Group and other business managers to drive the team agenda
  • Manage weekly team meeting content
  • Assist with control identification and testing

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or related.
  • 1+ year experience in finance and/or Business Management experience
  • Excellent PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills
  • Strong organization skills, including ability to manage multiple projects / competing priorities in parallel
  • Ability to focus on best practices, including the ability to focus on details without losing sight of the big picture, process management including adherence to published standards and procedures, communication, and organization
  • Strong judgement, pro-activity, ability to work independently, and sound work ethics
  • Comfortable liaising with business managers and controllers, as well as leveraging existing relationships and networks within JPMC F&BM where possible
