As a Business Relationship Manager Trainee, you can explore your potential through hands-on experience in a professional environment. In this program, you will have the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge related to financial acumen, Chase and Business Banking culture, relationship management, and professional skills through a variety of educational and experiential activities. During the first Phase of the program, you will report to a Divisional Small Business Manager who will coordinate in field experiences with mentors, Business Bankers, and other partners. You may work from a Chase Branch location to complete virtual training and execute job shadows. Our virtual learning courses will provide you the core curriculum for the role of Business Relationship Manager 1.

During Phase 2, you will have the opportunity to work directly with Business Owners and begin to build your book of business. You will be aligned with a mentor that will help you find opportunities, engage clients over the phone and in person, and conduct meetings. This is an excellent opportunity to begin your career in our Business Banking line of business. The goal of the program is to graduate Trainees into a Business Relationship Manager (BRM) role. Our BRMs work directly with business owners in local communities, helping them manage cash flow today and secure the financing they need to grow tomorrow.
Job responsibilities:
- Participate in immersive job shadowing experiences at client's place of business and Chase Branches;
- Conduct product, market, and client research;
- Complete special projects within Business Banking (i.e., Sales Strategy, Marketing, Product);
- Acquire, manage, and retain a portfolio of 25-40 business clients with annual revenue of $1 - $5 million for your assigned branches; provide deposit and cash management solutions and manage credit opportunities up to approximately $500,000;
- Deliver an outstanding experience to Chase business clients by providing comprehensive and customized business banking solutions tailored to the financial needs and circumstances of their businesses;
- Regularly conduct in-person calls with prospects and existing clients at their places of business;
- Own client experience survey results for all assigned clients. Escalate those that require additional assistance or resolution;
- Identify and pursue potential new business clients, looking for ways to cultivate long-term, primary banking relationships;
- Build collaborative relationships with partners across lines of business (Chase Wealth Management, Home Lending, Branch Teams) to connect clients with specialists who can help meet their financial needs;
- Provide leadership by actively supporting your assigned branches; and
- Protect the firm by following sound risk management protocols and adhering to regulatory requirements
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Pursuing a B.A., B.S., or 5th year M.A. or M.S. with an expected graduation date of December 2023 through June 2025
- Strong desire to build a network and start a career in the financial industry working with small business owners
- Strong leadership aptitude and proven ability to influence others
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- High degree of initiative and ability to drive results
- Ability to build strong, collaborative working relationships
- Effective presentation and communication skills
- Strong qualitative and quantitative problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and pivot quickly as priorities change
- Organizational skills and attention to detail, working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Preferred minimum GPA of 3.2 out of 4.0
- Experience working in Sales, Retail, Hospitality, or Banking
