About the Role:
As a key Leader of the R&D Data Science & Digital Health organization, you will report to the Chief R&D Data Science Officer and collaborate closely with the R&D global function organizations such as Global Development, Global Regulatory Affairs and Clinical Supply Chain. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement a strategic Data Science vision for R&D functions, enable transparent R&D data-driven decision making, advance the portfolio, and enhance productivity across R&D functions. Leveraging your domain expertise, you will lead teams to drive Data Science projects that deliver high-impact insights. You will effectively communicate the value of Data Science to business stakeholders and work alongside cross functional teams to identify and pursue innovative use cases.
Responsibilities:
• Establish and implement multi-year strategic plan for building data science capabilities to support R&D functions
• Partner with the R&D functions to define and prioritize a portfolio of high impact use cases in alignment with overall R&D portfolio
• Champion, build and drive large strategic and complex Data Science projects to achieve the intended impact in a timely manner
• Lead a large team in a highly matrixed environment with cross-functional teams of TA/functional representatives, Data Scientists, external partners (when needed), etc. while also providing executive visibility to the Chief R&D Data Science Officer and R&D functions. Key area of focus includes Clinical Supply, Global Development and Global Regulatory Affairs
• Collaborate within the R&D Data Science and Digital Health team to design use cases, develop algorithms and models using AI/Machine Learning, and ensure the interpretability of results for maximum impact
• Build and cultivate right partnerships and alliances with internal and external partners in collaboration with Business Development, Innovation Centers, etc.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, becoming a trusted advisor on business data, analytics techniques, and underlying business drivers.
• Provide strategic input in data purchasing, ingestion, wrangling, solution development as needed.
Qualifications
• A minimum education level of a master's degree or MBA is required, a PhD or MD is highly Preferred.
• A minimum of 12 years' experience is required
• Critical experience in developing, communicating, implementing and executing bespoke strategies
• Critical experience with R&D in either biopharmaceutical product development, Data Sciences, and/or strategic consulting, with a clear track record of success, is required
• Conversant and familiar in Clinical Trial Operations, Clinical Supply, Regulatory Affairs and R&D Business Operation (tokenization, site selection, patient enrollment, etc) is required
• Familiar with machine learning, quantitative methods, predictive modelling and other analytics frameworks and Digital Health techniques is required
• Extensive experience in R&D working across multiple therapeutic areas is required
• People Leadership and managing a large team of direct reports in required
• Demonstrated ability of success in influencing and leading, including change implementation, in a large and matrixed organization
• Passion for innovation and "can do" attitude
• Proved experience on prioritizing and implementing complicated portfolio investments
• Ability to work in ambiguous situations-project scope may not be clear in initial stages and may need to be created
• Able to build a sense of trust and rapport that creates a comfortable & effective workplace

The anticipated base pay range for this position is 194000 to 356500.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year.
