This role primarily supports the Global Category Leads in the development and sourcing of logistics services for all Johnson & Johnson business segments worldwide. It emphasizes the practice of supplier relationship management while adhering to a business compliance culture in all relevant processes. The position involves providing clear communication and guidance for sourcing activities with internal customers and colleagues, fostering a positive working environment for the professionals and suppliers involved.

The Category Specialist will support the Category Leads in managing category strategies related to transportation spending for Johnson & Johnson Companies. This role involves monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on the organization's operations to ensure it meets targets for financial performance, quality, service, and compliance!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the development and implementation of the Procurement vision in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Contributing to the execution of the vision, strategy, and implementation plan for specific categories or sub-categories of spending, ensuring alignment with the long-term needs of business partners and maximizing value for JNJ.
  • Directly engaging with suppliers to ensure that JNJ's objectives are met, focusing on quality, reliability, innovation, and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborating with Category Leads to achieve annual value improvements and enhance competitive advantage.
  • Meeting commitments related to financial performance, service delivery, reliability, quality, innovation, and growth.
  • Cultivating relationships with strategic suppliers through data analysis, performance management, and enhancing the overall value chain while fostering innovation.
  • Escalating issues that could affect the Global Procurement organization.


Qualifications

Education:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or University equivalent, required with a concentration in Supply Chain, Engineering, Life sciences or related field preferred.
  • Master's degree preferred.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • A minimum of four (4) years of relevant working experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of key Procurement focus areas related to Supplier Management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to confidently present complex information.
  • Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and effective problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proven track record of achieving targets and objectives.
  • Capable of prioritizing requests and suggesting effective cost and customer service alternatives when needed.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including Pivot Tables, formulas and VLOOKUP.

Other:

  • This position will be located in New Brunswick, NJ and may require up to 10% domestic or international travel.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $76,000.00 to $121,900.00.

- The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.

  • Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance.
  • Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

  • Vacation - up to 120 hours per calendar year
  • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington - up to 56 hours per calendar year
  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays - up to 13 days per calendar year of Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
