Technical Product Owner- Protein Therapeutics Development

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, R&D is recruiting for a Technical Product Owner, Protein Therapeutics Development.

In this role, the candidate will demonstrate analytical skills and technical expertise to guide the development of protein-based therapeutic products, ensuring technical solutions meet customer expectations and drive business objectives. This position's primary location will be Spring House, PA, USA or Malvern, PA, USA and requires 10% occasional travel.

The mission of the Therapeutics Development Product Group is to implement the best technology to transform the development and delivery of life changing medicines for the J&J IM, R&D portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understands and applies Johnson & Johnson's Credo and Leadership Imperatives in day-to-day interactions with team.
  • Collaborates across business areas with partners, vendors, technical staff and project teams to drive value and deploy innovative solutions.
  • Owns scientific workflow process mapping for business areas within product.
  • Owns technical tasks related to software implementation efforts.
  • Reviews and translates scientific workflows into well-defined product requirements including themes/epics/features, user stories, and acceptance test criteria.
  • Continuously reviews the business needs, refines priorities, and champions organizational change.
  • Establishes Outcomes & Key Results and metrics to evaluate product performance and user satisfaction.
  • Coaches more junior colleagues in techniques, processes, and responsibilities.
  • Prepares and presents regular updates to senior management and team members.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Biology, Biochemistry, Computer Science, Data Science or related subject area.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience enabling scientific systems within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience with commercial scientific software providers.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and derive actionable insights.
  • Understanding of SDLC and related documentation for both GxP and Non-GxP data systems.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies and experience with project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Asset Management).
  • Excellent business sense & interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with contending priorities, multi-functional teams, and changing needs.
  • Demonstrable ability to influence, negotiate, and build partnerships, teams, and trust across functions.

Preferred:

  • Commercial software deployments at a global scale.
  • Technical background in biologic drug development.
