The Memphis Logistics Center's Senior Manager, Distribution Services leads the successful, on-cost daily operational execution of distribution services in collaboration with the third-party logistics (3PL) service provider, Functional Business Partners, and Commercial Partners. Our Senior Manager is a crucial leader with direct impact on end-to-end supply chain performance enabling profitable sales growth for the MedTech organization!
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide active leadership for distribution operations, bridging organizational structures between Deliver, 3PL provider, and supported Franchises, to deliver agile operations, customer service enhancements, flexibility, innovation and cost reduction
- Leads a team of 4-6 members in support of 3PL execution, providing direction, coaching, mentoring, development, and performance/data-driven feedback to achieve customer promise
- Responsible for site compliance to Local, State, Federal, corporate and insurance requirements, in addition to SOX/FDA/GMP and EHS standards
- Drives supplier relationship management (SRM) strategies to ensure high level of performance in Cost and Service, including robust Quarterly Business Reviews and Monthly/Daily Updates
- Meet all financial obligations for site operations; identify and quantify site-related opportunities (Service, Efficiency, Compliance) while driving cost-improvement projects (ClP) within budget
- Ensure business analysis of production/inventory data to support site performance activities and continued process excellence. Completes Inventory and Operations scorecards for cost/quality, and enables metric-tracking solutions through development and implementation
- Responsible for end-to-end orchestration, leading strategic projects/investments across the MedTech supply chain to reduce cost/complexity and improve reliability and competitive advantage
- Completes all other tasks and projects as assigned by management
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree focus in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field. A master's degree is preferred.
Experience and Skills:
Required:
- 8 years proven experience in distribution operations
- Prior 3PL experience and demonstrated success in building relationships across functional and organizational lines to deliver business results
- Strong quality, compliance, and EHS focus; knowledge of SOX & GDP and documentation
- Understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate at all levels using appropriate approaches
- Ability to handle complexity and use a proactive approach to problem solving with consistent record of using data analytics and Lean solutions
- Demonstrated innovation skills and dedication to continuous quality and process improvement
Preferred:
- Previous experience handling performance metrics, contracts, and financials with third-party suppliers
- Experience in a regulated environment, specifically healthcare industry
- Demonstrated experience and solid understanding in Lean, Six Sigma, FPX, or other process excellence/continuous improvement principles and methodologies
Other:
- Requires up to 10% domestic and/or international travel
