Job Description
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Director of Distribution, lead the operation of the distribution centre in Illkirch, France with a budget of approximately €5.7m. Responsible for overall warehouse productivity expense control and all objectives, including training, motivation of personnel and personnel development. Full P&L accountability. Multi-attribute distribution - Cold Chain, Dangerous Goods, Export and Non-Dangerous Goods. The warehouse is 19000m2 with 40-60 staff, 17000 items and handling 1 million lines per year. This individual will also be a key contact for sales and customer service in FR, EU served customers and export from the FR warehouse. They are the main point of contact for the French commercial team for all operational issues, initiations, and actions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deploy service offering which consistently meet or exceed customer requirements.
- Full budget accountability -Build and handle purposefully the distribution centre's budget.
- Work within a matrix functional organization to improve the effectiveness of the company.
- Look continuously for areas of improvement that increase efficiency and overall company profitability.
- Work energetically to further improve warehouse organization, layout and efficiency.
- Transform the distribution facility into a world class, innovative environment.
- Guide the design of data driven metrics and exception management processes and implement associated standard operating procedures (SOP's) that take operations performance to the next level (improving productivity, quality, and service). Apply techniques such as, forecasting, variable staffing, and improved spaced utilization.
- Further develop an organizational structure focused on building a cohesive team built around the values: Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement. Responsible for the training, development of team and performance improvement plans.
- Lead team focus and support of safety and environmental program.
- Supply and plan to ensure all required training is current as per quality program.
- Work as a member of a European network to ensure consistent processes and procedures and using standard methodologies.
- Ensure that all operations are operating within corporate, EU, and local regulatory guidelines, safety legislation, ISO work instructions, and environmental standards.
- Identify site equipment requirements, source supply, negotiate price. Lead capital assets and associated repair and maintenance.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Travel up to 25%.
Experience:
• Must possess meaningful hands on managerial experience in physical distribution and/or transportation with exposure to challenging management issues.
Languages:
• French and English
Minimum Qualifications:
• A Degree in Materials Management, Supply Chain / Logistics, Business Administration or a related area or equivalent.
• Good level in all Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Visio).
• Good user level and detailed knowledge of WMS and WMS configuration.
• Strong history with process re-engineering and operational improvement. PPI / Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing training desired.
