The successful candidate will join bladder drug discovery team to develop cutting-edge biologics and small molecules for the treatment of cancer. S/he will work in an exciting/stimulating environment across the different stages of preclinical drug discovery and development on projects that include the design, execution and interpretation of studies for the validation and characterization of therapeutic agents and new targets. The candidate will lead science from the bench and will demonstrate engagement, innovation, independence, with solid communication and presentation skills, critical thinking and strong interpersonal qualities. One who employs attention to detail while aligned with the big picture. Highly motivated and dedicated individual with an excellent scientific track record will be organized, work well in a team setting, show leadership and be sensitive to timelines. Experience in solid tumor drug discovery is preferred. Troubleshooting skills are crucial. S/he will efficiently collaborate with colleagues in the oncology as well as in the chemistry and antibody development groups, and present scientific results to multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, perform, interpret, troubleshoot, and report complex data.
- Management of multiple experiments/projects and interaction with supporting functions.
- Contribution to projects outside of his/her direct responsibility via collaboration with partners from other functions.
- Preparation of documents and presentation of strategy, results, project updates, and summaries.
- Clear and professional verbal and written communication with excellent presentation skills
- Proficient in TCE and cell biology assays that could include FACS, Immunoblotting, 2D/3D cell proliferation and cytotoxicity, ELISAs, immune cell isolation, cell culture, siRNA knock-down, ADCC, CDC, other functional assays.
- Initiation and management of external collaborations (contract research organizations, academics).
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. with post-doctoral experience and at least 2 years of industry experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical environment is required.
- Experience in Oncology Discovery is required, and experience in solid tumors preferred.
- Excellent communication skills required.
- Hands on laboratory experience and ability to perform tissue culture and TCE modality based CD3-assays is required.
- Cell/molecular biology skills are required (transfections, transductions, western blotting, incucyte assays, MSD, siRNA/shRNA, qPCR, CRISPR/Cas9, immunofluorescence, FACS, ELISA and in vivo models).
- Experience with basic techniques in the Immuno-Oncology field is preferred (such as ADCC, cytokine release, T cell biology, immune cell purification and characterization)
