POSITION SUMMARY

This critical role will be responsible for developing, refining and ensuring the execution of unique pricing strategies and commercial program development for capital and digital products as well as strategic channel contracting options for JJMT's customers.

The Pricing and Contracting Initiatives team works in close collaboration with the field /account management teams, the offer development team, and product marketing teams to identify the most appropriate offering (products, pricing, solutions and T&Cs) for the customer possible. A key deliverable of the Pricing and Contracting Initiatives team is creating a holistic approach to contracting with our customers, which includes the development of a disciplined, defensible strategy for the pricing of our products in the marketplace.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role will be focused on the JJMT Orthopaedics business unit specifically for capital and digital contract strategies, rebate and overlay programs, strategic third-party partnerships, and strategic channel access programs. As a core part of the Pricing and Contracting Initiatives team, the Senior Manager will be responsible for setting the pricing strategy, discount or rebate structures and channel strategies across all JJMT customers. This role will work in close collaboration with the brand marketing teams to ensure our pricing strategies create optimal value for the brand in the market as we look to contract these products with health systems. This role will interact on a regular basis with Marketing, Account Management, Offer Development, GBI, Sales and HEMA to bring our brands and solutions to the market through thoughtful pricing strategies and contracting options. In addition to demonstrating proficiency in the business and the customer landscape, ideal candidates will possess a balance of quantitative/qualitative problem-solving skills, a sharp strategic mind pulled from insights within J&J as well as the medical device industry and more broadly, excellent written and oral communications, and a focus on driving financial impact.

  • Develop strategies that allow for the achievement of our strategic and business plan goals related to contracted sales growth, price erosion and gross profit increase.
  • Partner with regional platform marketing teams to maximize pricing performance in our strategic customers, including new product introduction pricing, list price changes, life-cycle management pricing, and program specific initiatives. This is impacted by market data, reimbursement changes and value propositions.
  • Lead the US business units in development and implementation of our pricing matrices while creating and implementing pricing strategies and governance models, in accordance with relevant brand insights (e.g. brand ladder, product profile/positioning and life cycle status, etc.).
  • Develop and manage strategies and pricing across the various segments (Tiers, GPOs, RPCs, Govt, etc.) while performing big data analytics.
  • Support the Offer Development and FSO teams in refinement of pricing strategies (attainment) while balancing effective price management with efficiency.
  • Develop key market-based insights, through customer interactions and market-based analytics, and translate into meaningful pricing strategies.
  • Complete quarterly reviews of pricing performance (attainment, erosion, etc.), versus our stated strategies and competition/market.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree within Business, Finance, Economics or Marketing or related field is required. An MBA and/or an advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years combined experience in Finance, Pricing, Marketing, Commercial Leadership, HEMA or related business experience is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years MedTech or Medical Device experience is required, Orthopaedics preferred.
  • Strategic ability to create high impact price and contract strategy by synthesizing disparate information is preferred.
  • Ability to use detailed financial analyses and high-level pattern recognition to drive performance and define critical issues is preferred.
  • Proven experience in challenging the status quo, thinking differently and challenging cultural norms is preferred.
  • Ability to influence others and create alignment in a multi-stakeholder environment is critical to success is preferred.
  • Strong communication and presentation capabilities, knowledge of J&J businesses, financial regulations, contracting and health care compliance are also required.
  • Demonstrated ability to create, cast and execute a strategic vision for change across a matrix organization is required.
  • Ability to prioritize and to successfully manage multiple projects/priorities is required.
  • This position can be based in Raynham, MA, West Chester, PA, Warsaw, IN or Palm Beach Gardens, FL and may require up to 20% business travel.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $120,000 to $207,000.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.

  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year.
