Major Responsibilities:

  • Marketing strategy and execution: Lead U.S. marketing strategy and activation for J&J nursing, including National Nurses Month, media targeting diverse, prospective students, and paid search. Leveraging rich learning from prior years to inform approach and partner closely with media planning agency and internal teams to deliver with excellence on multi-touchpoint campaigns.
  • US and global nursing strategy: Work closely with the Global Nursing Initiatives Marketing Director to shape and optimize the J&J global nursing strategy, ensuring work rolls up to the broader J&J Global Health Equity strategy helping to deliver on reputation and HCW impact.
  • Creative and campaign development: Lead development of insight generation, creative messaging and assets for 2026 paid media campaigns. Partner with insights team and agency partners to develop best-in-class impactful, insight-driven, audience-first messaging that advocates for nursing profession and highlights J&J support.
  • Strategy and execution for the nursing owned digital ecosystem: Includes nursing website and owned social channels (Meta and YT) providing guidance on best practices, thinking holistically about the ecosystem and content priorities and leveraging data and analytics to drive strategic decision making. This includes understanding the nursing social media landscape to ensure content feels relevant given environment in which it will live. A Manager will support you to execute.
  • Nursing and health equity impact storytelling: Work with key external partners to set strategic vision for long-form content platforms including e-newsletter and podcast. Oversee content development and leverage data and analytics to track impact and inform recommendations. Work with J&J Global Health Equity and Enterprise comms teams when appropriate to elevate nursing impact stories outside of nursing owned channels.
  • Global programmatic insight development: Work with insights team to conduct market research to identify global nursing insights, trends and program best practices to develop impactful global programs and communications.
  • Business planning: Lead key elements of J&J Global Health Equity annual business planning and long-range financial planning, in collaboration with various functions of the J&J Global Health Equity Team.
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with J&J Innovative Medicine and MedTech business partners: to gather insights from customers on the needs of health systems related to the nursing workforce and to optimize and build assets highlighting the programs and resources that exist in support of the nursing profession.
  • Strategic external partnerships and program development: Lead NurseHack4Health strategy and events in partnership with external partners, implementation team and M1 leading conferences. Build and maintain relationships with key partners including nursing organizations, KOLs, etc. This requires a deep ability to build relationships and influence without authority.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Build relationships with the Strategic Customer Group and other partners across the J&J enterprise to understand business strategy and embed social impact within enterprise and commercial brand strategies where relevant.
  • Measurement and optimization: Lead measurement for nursing team in partnership with external vendor and internal partners including implementation team to ensure impact of programs is captured and optimization opportunities are identified. Make recommendations to adjust plans and/or budgets for increased impact.
  • Team culture: Be an active, contributing member to the nursing team and broader J&J Global Health Equity team. Provide constructive feedback, guidance, mentorship, and support to M1 and help foster a collaborative team environment and elevate team impact.


Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required
  • A minimum of 8 years of commercial marketing experience is required
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement, business leadership, executive presence, proficiency with "dot connecting", influencing without authority, creating long term impact and enhancing the reputation of organization is required
  • Experience in health equity or public health is a strong asset.
  • Strong marketing and communications experience inclusive of launching and leading paid media campaigns and owned social media strategies, content strategy and development.
  • Track record designing ground-breaking programs for healthcare professionals and patients with positive outcomes.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare, the needs of patients and the nurses, healthcare workers, and providers who serve them.
  • Able to anticipate trends, envision the future and inspire change.
  • Highly analytical, able to see through data and identify actionable insights.
  • Strong strategic ability to think creatively, conceptually and critically to solve challenging problems.
  • Creative! You are a never-ending source of innovative ideas to solve ambitious problems.
  • A strong track record of being a contributing member to dedicated, hard-working teams.
  • Global experience working with diverse teams across multiple geographies.
  • Developing and managing strong collaborative partnerships internally and externally. Experience in working with nursing and healthcare organizations, government and regulatory officials, and NGOs is preferred.
  • Managing external vendors and agencies to produce quality work.
  • Outstanding communication and leadership presentation skills.
  • Able to navigate across a matrixed, global organization and influence by building strong working relationships.
  • Project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and make difficult tradeoff decisions.
  • Understanding of health equity challenges facing people in resource-limited settings around the world.
  • Passion for the important role that J&J can play to help improve access to quality healthcare.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop talent and careers.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $113,000- $195,500.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.

Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

  • Vacation - up to 120 hours per calendar year
  • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington - up to 56 hours per calendar year
  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays - up to 13 days per calendar year of Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
