The primary role of this leader is to provide Technology Leadership for our Robotics and Digital Solutions (RAD) organization within J&J MedTech. At RAD, we are changing the trajectory of health for humanity, using robotics to enhance healthcare providers' abilities and improve diagnoses, treatments, and recovery times for patients. This leader will collaborate on breakthrough medical technologies that unite multiple subject areas to build a connected digital ecosystem that advances medical professionals' skills and improves patient outcomes. This organization requires superb technology leadership to help develop the necessary information and digital technology capabilities, strategies and portfolio of investments to help establish and grow this business for the long-term.
This leader will be part of the strategic path to globally scale our surgical robotics products and deliver on our commitment to delivering a connected digital ecosystem for the industry. Additional responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
• Serve as a strategic technology partner for RAD, responsible for end-to-end technology strategy and engagement across Robotics Platforms (Monarch and Ottava) and functional partners. Member of the RAD Leadership team and Ottava Platform Leadership team.
• Lead area processes for the organization's Technology function and ensure technical programs align with the overall business and product strategy. This includes shaping the Commercialization Strategy, Go-To Market and Implementation approach for the RAD portfolio - defining new organization capabilities and resources to scale as a MedTech organization and deliver end-to-end value.
• Formulate organizational policies, goals and objectives based on proven methodologies within the industry.
• Lead programs to integrate new systems into the existing technology product portfolio, with minimal interruption.
• Collaborate directly with customers and users, tracking and researching industry trends and monitors competition to identify ways technology can deliver on unmet needs, drive competitive advantage, unlock customer value and/or serve long-term business needs.
• Coordinate operational aspects of their teams (e.g., budget, performance and compliance), as well as implementing workforce and succession plans to meet business needs.
• Contribute to the broader J&J Technology and J&J MedTech Technology strategies.
• Champion the progression of DE&I and talent agendas for J&J Technology and J&J MedTech Technology organizations.
• Support Business Development and Innovation Partnership - assesses strategic fit of partners and technology
• Facilitate organizational change across J&J MedTech and JJT, related our Digital Transformation and High Performing Teams(HPT) model.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's level degree or equivalent in a technology related field such as Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology. Master's level degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 12-years' experience working within a technology related field, along with a minimum of 5-years of direct people leadership experience is required.
- Experience with technology enabled product businesses, such as medical devices and robotics, technology or automobile manufacturing industries is preferred.
- Experience with Digital and Cloud Technologies, Data Analytics and ML/AI.
- Prior experience applying ML/AI or Intelligent Automation to drive business outcomes and efficiency.
- Previous involvement in business transformation through digital and technology.
- Adept in change management practices.
- Experience working in a product-based operating model.
- Experience working with robotics and software or software engineering is strongly preferred.
- Proven external view and comfort working with external partners, such as hospitals, health systems and technology suppliers and vendors
- Up to 15% domestic and international travel will be required
The anticipated base pay range for this position is 200000 to 343850. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
