The Senior Director of Data & AI Services will be a critical leader within the MedTech Supply Chain Digital (MTSCD) organization, accountable for Data Science & GenAI, Insights & Reporting, and Data Curation & Automation teams. This role is responsible for driving innovation through the strategic application of Data & AI, and specifically GenAI. This role will involve setting and executing on MTSCD's Data & AI Services vision, building and leading high-performing teams, and ensuring the delivery of impactful Data & AI services across MedTech Supply Chain.

The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of data science, machine learning, AI/GenAI, analytics, automation, data curation & data products, and reporting, with a proven track record of delivering innovative, data-driven solutions in the MedTech industry or in a supply chain function.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute a comprehensive Data & AI Services strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and the long-term vision of MTSCD

• Identify strategic opportunities to leverage GenAI to drive innovation and within MTSCD and across the organization, including identifying emerging capabilities and best practices, and providing guidance on implementation strategies

• Oversee the design, development, and deployment of AI/ML, data science, analytics/reporting, and automation solutions for various business domains, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder satisfaction

• Build and manage a world-class team by recruiting, developing, and retaining top talent, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and experimentation with cutting-edge technologies

• Collaborate with the Data & AI Factory to deploy cost-effective, high-impact solutions, optimizing the structure to reduce time to delivery, improve quality, and improve productivity when delivering on Data & AI initiatives

• Prioritize Data & AI Services initiatives based on strategic importance, business needs, and potential business impact

Other Responsibilities:

• Foster a collaborative culture within the Data & AI Services team and across MTSCD teams through knowledge sharing, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Ensure optimal distribution of teams between onshore, offshore, and vendor partners, based on critical skills, location, and upcoming project requirements.

• Define and implement Responsible AI principles, frameworks, and mechanisms, to enforce the safe use of Data & AI solutions across the organization.

• Establish KPIs to measure the impact of Data & AI Services solutions on business priorities.

• Establish SLAs to ensure quality, reliability, and timely delivery of Data & AI services.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field: Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field required. Advanced Degree (MBA, Master's, PhD) in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

12+ years of experience overall in data science, machine learning, AI, analytics, etc. with 6+ years of demonstrated results in technology leadership roles, preferably in the life sciences or MedTech industry, and/or supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing functions.

Required Skills:

• Proven success in driving organizational change and large Data & AI transformation initiatives within a supply chain context.

• Proven track record of inspiring and leading diverse technical teams to achieve ambitious goals, and managing high visibility, cross-enterprise projects.

• In-depth understanding of supply chain processes, data curation & data products, analytics, reporting, data science, machine learning, and AI, including GenAI.

• Strong understanding of the MedTech industry, supply chain challenges, opportunities, and the application of Data & AI to address them, to ensure Data & AI Services' solutions meet stakeholder needs.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences, including executives and supply chain leaders.

• Experience managing budgets and financial resources effectively; making the right decisions to optimize the return on investment for the organization.

Preferred Related Industry Experience: 5+ years of developing machine learning methods, including familiarity with techniques in clustering, regression, optimization, recommendation, neural networks, deep learning, NLP/LLMs, etc., using cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $173000 to $299000.

Bonus: - The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.

    • Vacation - up to 120 hours per calendar year
    • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington - up to 56 hours per calendar year
    • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays - up to 13 days per calendar year of Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
