The Senior Director of Data Engineering is responsible for managing the International Data Lake and Data Governance processes within our organization. This role involves overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of data engineering strategies and solutions to support our data management and governance objectives. The Senior Director will lead a large team of data engineers and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data integrity, availability, and security across international locations.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and execute a comprehensive data engineering strategy to support international data management and governance initiatives.

2. Manage the International Data Lake, ensuring efficient collection, storage, and retrieval of data from various sources.
3. Define and implement robust data governance processes, including data quality standards, data classification, and data lifecycle management.
4. Lead a team of data engineers, providing guidance, mentoring, and performance management to ensure successful project implementation.
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data engineering solutions.
6. Establish and maintain data management standards, best practices, and documentation for data integration, transformation, and analytics processes.
7. Oversee the design and deployment of data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration frameworks to ensure data consistency and accuracy.
8. Monitor data infrastructure performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement necessary optimizations for scalability and reliability.
9. Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in data engineering methodologies, tools, and technologies, and recommend appropriate solutions.
10. Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure data availability and accessibility for analytics and reporting purposes.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or a related field.
2. Proven experience (15+ years) in data engineering, data management, or a similar role.
3. 5+ years of leadership experience in managing large teams of data engineers.
4. Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, and data lifecycle management.
5. Expertise in designing and implementing data engineering solutions, including data lakes, data warehouses, and data integration frameworks.
6. Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.
7. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., GCP) and big data technologies.
8. Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing concepts, and database technologies.
9. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
10. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with attention to detail.
11. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

The annual salary range for this position is $160,000.00-$320,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and 7 years' experience in software engineering or related field. Option 2: 9 years' experience in software engineering or related field. Option 3: Master's degree in Computer Science and 5 years' experience in software engineering or related field.
6 years' experience in data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence, or business analytics.
3 years' supervisory experience.
