The Senior Director, CAR-T Global Marketing and Commercial Strategy will report directly to the VP, Global Lymphoma, Leukemia and Cell Therapy Commercial Strategy and will lead a cross-functional, highly matrixed global commercial team consisting of functions including strategic marketing, market research, global commercial insights and analytics, market access, and Health Economics & Pricing, Medical Affairs, Regulatory and Regional Commercial, to develop and implement the global commercial strategy. This leader will also be responsible for crafting global launches as well as lifecycle management for future indications and evidence generation needs for CARVYKTI. He/ she is responsible for commercial leadership on the compound development team (CDT) and global labeling teams.

The Commercial Leader, CAR-T, contributes to optimizing the value of CARVYKTI in collaboration with key functions across the Global Commercial Strategy Organization (GCSO), Global Cell Therapy Operations, JNJ Research and Development (R&D) and Janssen business regions.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Commercial Strategy

  • Lead the Global Commercial Team (GCT) with representation from NA, EMEA, AP, LA and other key stakeholders to develop and execute global commercial and brand strategy.
  • Drive development of key components of commercial strategy, including brand development, public relations, medical strategy, market access/reimbursement strategies, and other market preparation programs.
  • Build strategies and innovative go-to market approaches, in close collaboration with Global Cell Therapy Commercial Operations, for flawless launch and seamless customer experience in partnership with regional operating companies.
  • Collaborate with regional partners to lead the creation and execution of well-coordinated commercial strategies and launch plans, embedding external customer insights from patients, health care providers, and payers. Embed an increasingly digital/omnichannel mindset in our go to market models.
  • Effectively partner with Global Cell Therapy Commercial Operations team to coordinate commercial plans with operational strategy as well as key holistic brand messaging.

Product Development and Lifecycle

  • Effectively partner with R&D in Compound Development Teams and within the Disease Area Strategy forums, and the regional leadership to provide input into product development, label optimization, evidence generation, lifecycle decisions, formulation and dosing enhancements that supports the commercial launch strategy and lifecycle management investments
  • Lead the development of strong business case for new investments and lead/represent global commercial point of view through governance process
  • Influence senior Innovative Medicines management, R&D, and regional leadership to support data generation strategies and optimal and timely investments, ensuring development of highly differentiated CARVYKTI regimens and treatment protocols with compelling evidence-based value propositions and market accessibility.
  • Provide commercial input into the full asset valuation in collaboration with the Global Commercial insights and Analytics team. Leverage knowledge of the current and future market to provide insights for forecasting, strategic planning, and business planning in close collaboration with business analytics partners for competitive Intelligence, market research and forecasting.
  • Accountable for managing CARVYKTI marketing strategy budget.

Engagement & Impact

  • Demonstrate strong external focus by active engagement with key stakeholders including Key Opinion Leaders and Patient Opinion Leaders.
  • Support the development of a robust portfolio strategy in Multiple Myeloma providing commercial input and aligned business plan.

Leadership and Talent development

  • Be the ambassador for GCSO; attract, develop, and retain high performing talent.
  • Build vibrant team culture and shape next generation of commercial leaders.


Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. An advanced degree in business or life sciences is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive biotech, pharmaceutical or relevant experience is required.
  • In-line marketing experience with senior brand responsibility and people management in a dynamic and innovative specialty therapeutic area. Oncology/hematology experience is strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical skills, ability to master complexity and to integrate insights into strategies and actions
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and cross-geography.
  • Other preferred qualifications: Launch experience, Global experience, demonstrated ability to work with regional partners, experience with managing strategic alliances, global market access and medical strategy
  • Proven track record of exceptional team & cross functional leadership.
  • Exceptional executive presence and strong communication skills, ability to work with senior leaders and executives
  • General manager leadership skills and enterprise mentality, ability to influence across the organization
  • Demonstrated innovation and agility to navigate multifaceted ecosystems
  • Ability to assimilate complex science and medical data
  • Ability to run multiple demands and priorities on time, lead teams, gain alignment and driving decision making is required.
  • This position requires up to 30% travel (largely international).

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $173,000 to $299,000.
