We are searching for the best talent to fill our Surgical Robotics Manufacturing Engineer Intern, based in Santa Clara, CA
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Manufacturing, Software and Design teams to design, develop, document, and qualify the manufacturing process for electro-mechanical components and subassemblies of a surgical robotics system.
- Write and execute process development protocols and reports.
- Organize and submit process development samples for testing.
- Collect, analyze, & report process data.
- Collaborate with external and internal suppliers to support key projects.
- Lead small technical projects and process changes.
- Support local community through the Credo inspired events and activities.
Qualifications
Education:
- Enrolled in an accredited college/university.
- Preferred majors are: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Biomedical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Material Science and Engineering.
Experience and Skills:
- A minimum G.P.A. of 3.0
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US
- Completion of at least a first year of undergraduate academic program
- Must have transportation to and from work daily
- Demonstrated leadership experience in projects or other activities
- Must be highly organized with the ability to drive projects/tasks simultaneously and effectively prioritize projects and tasks
- Must have the ability to work individually as well as on a team
- Must have good interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, Sharepoint, Excel
Preferred:
- Knowledge of tools such as DOE's, Statistical Methods, CAD (Solid-works/Pro-E/AutoCAD), GD&T, Failure Analysis Techniques (Fault tree, Fish Bone Diagram).
- Experience with commercial or pilot manufacturing lines & technical report writing.
- Robotics, programming background
- Participation in campus/community service activities
Other Requirements:
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have work authorization in the United States at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
• Ability to work onsite at the J&J office in Santa Clara, CA.
Work Environment:
• This position operates in a laboratory/assembly environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
Physical Demands:
• May require lifting of up to 50 lbs. and operation of hoisting equipment for heavier loads
• May require prolonged periods of standing, bending, sitting, and kneeling during system assembly.
The anticipated base pay for this position for candidates in a Robotics discipline is Sophomore $31.00/hr, Junior $34.50/hr, Senior $38.00/hr, Masters $45.00/hr, PhD $59.00/hr.
The anticipated base pay for this position for candidates in other Engineering disciplines (not Robotics) is Sophomore $28.50/hr, Junior $30.00/hr, Senior $32.00/hr, Masters $38.00/hr, PhD $42.50/hr.
This position is ineligible for severance.
