The Manager, Commercial Education MedTech | Surgery implements the learning strategy and educational programs that support commercial business objectives. He/She is responsible for designing trainings and developing content for key procedural specialties including, but not limited to Cardiovascular, orthopedics, and spine. This role will create best in class learnings inclusive of new hire training, certification, and an ongoing learning continuums leveraging a blended learning approach. This role provides an opportunity for the individual to work in cross-functional teams and gain deeper insight to the entire commercial organization.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Training Needs Assessment and Curriculum Development

  • Conduct needs analyses to identify knowledge and skill gaps across key clinical and specialty areas.
  • Gather input from internal stakeholders such as Sales, Medical Affairs, Marketing, and Compliance to align training with strategic business and clinical needs.
  • Develop dynamic learning programs that integrate hands-on simulations, case-based scenarios, and blended learning formats, including instructor-led, e-learning, and self-paced modules.

Content Customization and Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Customize curricula to focus on clinical advancements, product applications, and best practices relevant to each specialty.
  • Incorporate essential competencies, such as communication with clinical leaders, navigating complex healthcare environments, and understanding reimbursement pathways.
  • Collaborate with area leaders and the Sr. Manager of Commercial Education to align education programs with clinical and market strategies.
  • Partner with Marketing to support specialty-focused product launches and ensure education aligns with strategic business goals.

Training Delivery and Coaching

  • Execute Train-the-Trainer (TTT) programs to build global expertise in specialty education, following the organization's educational technology (EdTech) strategy.
  • Train and coach clinical educators and sales professionals on specialized topics such as new surgical techniques, patient pathways, and clinical evidence.
  • Provide expertise to enhance the team's ability to communicate effectively with clinicians, identify opportunities for growth, and support clinical decision-making.
  • Recommend innovative educational approaches, including the use of gamification, microlearning, and virtual simulations, to enhance knowledge retention.

Evaluation, Compliance, and Continuous Improvement

  • Develop assessments and evaluations to measure the impact of training programs on learners' knowledge and performance.
  • Continuously improve educational content based on feedback, clinical developments, and industry trends.
  • Ensure all educational materials comply with regulatory requirements, including Business Conduct Policy, HCC, and other relevant policies.
  • Manage content delivery through Learning Management Systems (LMS), leveraging technology to ensure accessibility and engagement.

General Duties & Responsibilities

  • Communicate business-related issues and opportunities to leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental practices and provide necessary resources to staff, as applicable.
  • Maintain personal and company compliance with all Federal, State, and local regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Respond to product-related questions from healthcare professionals, aligning responses with approved educational strategies and evidence-based practices.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.


Qualifications

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum 5 years successful experience in Clinical Sales, Sales Training, or Curriculum Design.
  • Must be located in (or relocate to) the Cincinnati/Raritan-based Institute.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES and AFFILIATIONS

  • Influence management to negotiate for resources.
  • Understanding and experience with adult learning principles
  • Project leadership and problem solving.
  • Ability to convey value proposition to all levels of key stakeholders across a facility.
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation written communication.
  • Knowledge of Business Conduct Policy, HCC and other Johnson & Johnson policies and procedures preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office and Apple applications.
  • Expertise in sales force effectiveness tools.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $99,000 to $170,200.

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.

Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

• Vacation - up to 120 hours per calendar year.

• Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington - up to 56 hours per calendar year.

• Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays - up to 13 days per calendar year.

• Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year.
