Responsible for identifying and implementing key business improvement initiatives* for the Digital Surgery Orthopaedics Supply Chain, including manufacturing campus at Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Focus on Lean Management System, Manufacturing Optimization and Manufacturing of the Future to advance our digital transformation, to drive growth, and to enable operational efficiency best-in-class systems and solutions.

Define opportunities, analyze data, design manufacturing line flows, and improve business processes including, but not limited, to receiving, inspection, warehouse and inventory management, tooling management, production, kitting, packing, in-process and Finished Good testing, documentation, and shipping. Evaluate flow, space and efficiency across process and locations (e.g. floor design recommendation efficiency, takt time, scalability, space utilization, 5S, material flow, raw material storage, Replenishment for manufacturing/local S&R/global, kitting/presentation).

Using business, leadership and technical skills, implementing projects and mentoring all groups, developing a continuous improvement culture. Develop effective and efficient processes from project inception and resolve major, multi-faceted line improvement opportunities. Responsible for presenting business case, investment, benefits and funding approval, along with cross-functional consensus for successful implementation.

The Business Excellence Manager will partner with other functions to secure consensus on process and technology enhancements including, but not limited, to Operations, Planning, Source, External Mfg, Engineering, Quality Operations, Quality Compliance, EHS&S (Environmental, Health Safety and Sustainability), Finance, IT and Facilities.

Improvement initiatives are led by enlisting and influencing cross-functional teams that deliver tangible business results through the application of the Johnson & Johnson Production System, Lean and Six Sigma principles, methodologies and tools, creating Dashboards with leading and lagging indicators with content, bias to action, task accountability, visualization and defining location/frequency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understands business impact of their technical actions.
  • Track and trend data, identify and implement process improvements to improve business measures (waste and cycle time).
  • Oversee all aspects of the lean manufacturing initiatives including workplace organization, standardize work, set-up reduction, process work-flow improvements and visual management.
  • Teach and mentor all levels to use BE Methodology and Lean Manufacturing tools and serves a consultant in Six Sigma/ DMAI2C/Lean principles to other personnel.
  • Lead or supports very complex and high impact BE Six Sigma, JJPS Opportunities and Lean projects. Support deployment of the JJPS (Johnson & Johnson Production System).
  • Develop capacity analysis based on machines and operations standards, routes, headcount requirement and utilization constraints, amongst others.
  • Develop and implement appropriate production routes.
  • Defines opportunities, analyzes data, designs manufacturing line flows, and improves business processes.
  • Develops strategy and execution plan to improve flow of products from suppliers to distribution centers for a value stream.
  • Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of Six Sigma/DMAI2C/Lean principles and practices in broad areas of assignments.
  • Provide day-to-day coaching to BEx certification candidates.
  • Monitor and review critical to quality measures and present them.
  • Oversee the development, implementation and management of layouts using Lean Manufacturing concepts.
  • Follows and observes all regulatory requirements (GMP's, ISO, FDA, internal policies) applicable to area of responsibility.
  • Stay in sync with all environmental, safety and occupational health policies (i.e., ISO14001 & OSHAS 18001).
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Conduct internal and/or external benchmark to see opportunities to improve or advance our manufacturing process (Identification of standard methodologies, Traits of successful organizations creating a lean culture, and Recommendations for adoption/Change management for success implementation)
  • Know and follow all laws and policies that apply to one's job, and maintain the highest levels of professionalism, ethics and compliance at all times.


Qualifications

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical or business subject area

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • At least (3) years of applicable experience in process improvement environment
  • A minimum of (5) years of experience in Manufacturing, Engineering or related activities within a regulated environment (medical device or pharmaceutical)
  • Strong analytical problem solving, interpersonal, negotiation and leadership skills, as well as associate relations capabilities, technology management, financial analyses, and customer-focused decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Safety and Environmental requirements (EHS&S)
  • Advanced computer skills and use of software application(s).
  • Requires proven initiative, creativity, assertiveness and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing, communication (oral and written), presentation, listening, negotiating and Problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work under pressure achieving consistently high results through individual and team efforts.
  • Practical application ability and/or working knowledge of project management and cost/benefit analysis.
  • Excellent analytical and statistical skills.
  • Strong knowledge in lean manufacturing principles: Value stream Mapping, Kaizen, one-piece flow, kanban, line balancing, 6S and visual management
  • Demonstrate knowledge of factors against which production effectiveness is measured, including elements such as inventory effectiveness, product quality, (i.e critical quality attributes) and other relevant metrics (OEE).
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific, technical journals, and financial reports.

Preferred:

  • Experience in Six Sigma and/or Lean methodologies is preferred.
  • Knowledge in Robotics, Automation or Artificial Intelligence is preferred
  • Master's degree desirable.

Other:

  • English fluency required
  • Must be able to travel to Palm Beach Gardens once a month if based in Raynham or Jacksonville.
  • Six Sigma Black belt required
  • The anticipated base pay range for this position is 100000 to 172500.
  • The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
