Jabil Design Servies is a seeking an experienced Networking Product Validation Manager (Jabil Wireline) that will lead a team responsible for validating the performance, reliability, compliance and compatibility of switch/router products. This is a new role to JDS within an established Product Validation Organization, and the initial priority will be to staff-up a new team.

This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background in switch/telecom technology and product testing, combined with people leadership and project management skills. The ideal candidate will drive test strategy development, resource planning, process improvements, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure timely and high-quality product validation.
This position demands proactive leadership, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of industry standards and quality control. The manager must also ensure continuous innovation in testing methodologies and tools while keeping pace with emerging technologies.
The position will have frequent engagement with US-based customers and will report to a US-based Director of Engineering.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Define the strategy for effectively and efficiently validating various switch/telecom products and then executing it.
- Engage directly with primarily US-based customers to discuss strategy, planning, scope and report results.
- Define and implement comprehensive validation strategies for switch/router hardware products, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Lead the validation team in executing complex testing scenarios, including stress, reliability, regression, performance, compliance (regulatory, safety and EMC) and interoperability testing to validate hardware performance under diverse conditions.
- Collaborate with development team, product management, and manufacturing teams to influence product design, ensuring testability, reliability, and scalability from early development stages.
- Optimize validation processes by leveraging advanced testing tools, automation frameworks, and data-driven analysis to enhance efficiency and defect detection.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing test results, identifying patterns, and implementing proactive quality measures to reduce failure rates and enhance overall product robustness.
- Establish and maintain comprehensive documentation for test plans, procedures, and results to ensure traceability, knowledge sharing, and audit readiness.
- Develop and enforce best practices for quality assurance, contributing to the evolution of testing standards and methodologies within the organization.
- Manage and mentor a multi-disciplinary validation team, providing technical leadership, training, and career development opportunities.
- Act as a technical authority, providing guidance and support in troubleshooting critical validation challenges and ensuring swift issue resolution.
- Communicate validation progress, risks, and key findings to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
MANAGEMENT & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directly manages a team of validation engineers, providing guidance on project execution, performance expectations, and career development.
- Responsible for hiring, training, mentoring, and performance management of validation engineers to build a high-performing team.
- Oversees resource planning and team workload distribution to ensure efficient test execution and project completion.
- Works closely with cross-functional leaders to align validation objectives with business and product development goals.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
- Expertise in validation methodologies, including functional, performance, compatibility, stress, compliance and reliability testing, with the ability to define and implement effective test strategies.
- Deep understanding of networking and telecom technologies, including switches, routers, network protocols, and industry standards.
- Strong analytical skills to quickly identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex issues, ensuring timely validation and high product quality.
- Proven leadership and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions (development, product management, compliance, and manufacturing) to drive quality improvements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to effectively articulate test results, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies and emerging trends, keeping the team and validation processes aligned with industry developments.
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking) for effective communication with global teams, stakeholders, and documentation review.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 12+ years' experience in telecom/networks product validation, including test plan development, execution, and analysis.
Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience. - 3+ years of people management experience.
