The Opportunity
The Director, FP&A role is an opportunity for a highly analytical individual to accelerate success for a high-growth, VC-backed company. The role will work very closely with the EVP of Finance in many projects from pricing to managing the budget process to analyzing company results to assisting in raising capital. This person will establish success metrics for the company, measure and monitor those metrics, and assist department heads in achieving successful scaling of the business. The role will be an opportunity to build trusted relationships with senior leaders across the company.
Essential Functions/Duties:
• Ensure strategic alignment of financial plan with the company's operational roll out and implementation plans.
• Diagnose and influence the key drivers of the business including profitability models, trends, and analytical needs.
• Design and execute meaningful and informative financial analysis to identify critical areas for attention and the evaluation of strategic options.
• Evaluate the company's market position and solution and work with EVP of Finance to continuously update pricing solutions.
• Help develop and monitor critical success metrics and communicate actionable insights to relevant stakeholders.
• Establish targets and plans for the company and individual compensation plans.
• Develop department-level financial budgets and forecasts utilizing inputs from department managers and project-focused spending plans.
• Establish a deep understanding of key drivers of each supported function and leverage data to build insights about our products and competitors.
• Effectively collaborate with the Accounting team and Manager of Finance on completion of monthly and quarterly financial closes and incorporation of actual results into the rolling forecast.
• Partner with department heads outside of the Finance and Accounting teams for forecast inputs, ad hoc analysis and process improvements. Serve as the financial thought-partner to cross-functional teams.
• Take initiative to automate management reporting and document business processes.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum years of relevant experience: 8+ years of experience performing forecasting, budgeting, analysis and other relevant financial functions
• Minimum education level: BS/BA degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or similar.
• 4+ years of demonstrated leadership experience.
• Experience in a VC-backed high growth company OR software company (or both).
• Highly analytical.
• Strong financial systems skills, working with financial systems such as Anaplan, Adaptive Insights and cloud-based ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle or Workday.
• Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, solve problems, draw valid conclusions, and make actionable recommendations in a timely and accurate manner.
• Advanced Excel user.
Preferred Qualifications:
• MBA preferred.
• Experience with Tableau Desktop and Server or other BI tools preferred.
• Experience in pricing software solutions a plus.
• Experience in international operations a plus.
• CFA, CFP, or CPA a plus.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers.
Physical Demands: This is largely a sedentary role. Physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying of 5 pounds; visual acuity, speech and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. Subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting, and kneeling to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment.
Compensation range is base salary of $XX-$XX. The salary range information provided, reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual salary will be commensurate with skills, experience, certifications or licenses and other relevant factors. In addition, this role will be eligible to participate in either the annual performance bonus or commission program, determined by the nature of the position.
