Overview

Job Summary


Responsible for managing accounting operations, financial reporting and compliance with regulations. This includes formulating and administering policies and procedures such as, US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), to ensure accounting and other financial reports accurately reflect the current state of the business. Provide strategic financial advice to the Financial Controller.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

  • Manage month-end and year-end closing and processing procedures.
  • Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Analyzes & interprets financial data to identify key trends, risks and opportunities in order to assist with timely & effective decisin making
  • Manage planning and implementation of external and internal audits
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and corporate policies as well as provide technical acocunting guidance as needed
  • Prepare an internal control framework to comply with risk governance, strengthen internal controls and optimize systems.
  • Asists in the coordination of insurance policy renewals, risk management and
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Manage and mentor the accounting team

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge & Experience for the position:
Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of accounting experience in a large multi-national corporation or accounting firm with signficant exposure to complex accounting issues.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Managerial capacity leading diverse teams and proven track record of delivering key results
  • Previous experience in manufacturing or pharmaceutical industries strongly preferred.
  • Combination of Public & Corporate accounting preferred
  • CPA strongly preferred

Skills & Capabilities:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail, with strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Team builder and motivator

Travel requirements:
Up to 5% annual travel.
