Role & Responsibilities
1. Technical Assessment and Analysis:
- Conduct detailed technical assessments of existing custom ABAP code and Fiori applications in the ECC system.
- Identify compatibility issues, performance bottlenecks, and areas requiring remediation for S/4HANA.
- Analyze SAP standard functionality changes and impacts on custom development.
- Document technical findings, remediation strategies, and effort estimations.
- Participate in fit-gap analysis and provide technical input for solution design.
- Perform code remediation based on SAP S/4HANA simplification guidelines and best practices.
- Modify custom ABAP programs to comply with S/4HANA data model changes and new functionalities (e.g., CDS views, AMDP).
- Optimize ABAP code for performance in the S/4HANA environment.
- Develop new ABAP functionalities as required by the project.
- Utilize SAP tools like ATC (ABAP Test Cockpit) and Code Inspector for code quality checks and remediation.
- Assess existing Fiori applications and identify necessary adjustments for S/4HANA.
- Develop and modify Fiori applications using SAPUI5, OData services, and Fiori elements.
- Ensure Fiori applications are responsive and optimized for various devices.
- Integrate Fiori applications with S/4HANA functionalities and data.
- Test and debug Fiori applications to ensure proper functionality and user experience.
- Implement custom Fiori applications as required.
- Support data migration activities by providing technical expertise on data transformations and validations.
- Develop and modify data migration programs (e.g., LSMW, custom ABAP programs) as needed.
- Troubleshoot data migration issues and provide solutions.
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and regression testing of ABAP and Fiori developments.
- Collaborate with functional teams for user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Document test results and resolve identified defects.
- Ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Create technical documentation for custom developments, remediation activities, and migration procedures.
- Provide knowledge transfer to other team members and end-users.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation.
- Work closely with functional consultants, project managers, and other technical team members.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates and address issues.
- Participate in project meetings and workshops.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in SAP ABAP development.
- Strong understanding of SAP ECC and S/4HANA architectures and functionalities.
- Proven experience in brownfield migration projects.
- Extensive experience with ABAP programming, including reports, interfaces, enhancements, and forms.
- Proficiency in Fiori/UI5 development, OData services, and Fiori elements.
- Experience with CDS views and AMDP is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of SAP tools like ATC, Code Inspector, and transport management.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of SAP Activate methodology is a plus.
