Infosys Public Services is seeking a WAS Administrator to join our team.
Position Description (scope of work or brief narrative):
The WAS Admin will be responsible for maintaining and operating WAS environments. The admin will also be responsible for creating, maintaining, and troubleshooting high-performance mission-critical applications to meet the company's strategic objectives. The candidate will have in-depth knowledge of AWS and ITIL processes.
Required years of experience, training, technical skills, and other requirements for job performance:
- Deployment, administration, and operational support of (production, staging, test, and development) environments for multiple projects using WebSphere Application Server.
- Architect WebSphere cells, clusters, and nodes.
- Automate repetitive tasks through scripts.
- Configure and test production environments.
- Execute functions on the WebSphere application server.
- Develop firewalls and multi-tiered architectures.
- Architect, test, and initiate upgrades and patches.
- Support new application development professionals.
- Perform and initiate QA audits.
- Monitor application server performance and respond appropriately
- Monitors systems capacity and performance, plans and executes disaster recovery procedures, and provides Tier 2 technical support.
- Responsible for modifying and updating technical documentation, creating reports, and determining project requirements
- Minimum of 7 years experience with Web-based applications, SOA (Services Oriented Architectures), and Web application servers (WebLogic, WebSphere).
- Competency in relational database structures and SQL.
- Experience with process documentation and process documentation tools (such as Visio.)
- Experience with UNIX system administration and TCP/IP networking.
- Experience using Java, J2EE, XML, SQL, and Shell/Perl Scripting in a UNIX environment.
- Strong analytical & troubleshooting skills.
