Infosys Public Services is seeking an experienced Labor Practice Director to join our team.

Position Description (scope of work or brief narrative):
The Practice Director will be focused on both business development and practice management within the IPS National Labor Practice. Business development will include identifying and qualifying new opportunities, developing subsequent solutions (both technology and people) for the associated opportunities, managing Infosys internal teams and processes, and assisting in contract closure. The Practice Director will develop and execute market and business capture plans to grow the IPS labor business. Revenue forecasting and accountability for delivery upon revenue forecasts will be required. Upon contract closure, the Practice Director will perform engagement director functions as required. Engagement director functions will include executive oversight, managing client expectations and Infosys resources while ensuring project schedule adherence, change order and invoice management, and overall engagement director functions.   • Driving engagements from strategy through execution, managing multiple complex engagements and project budgets, assisting in developing project costing model, convening meetings with internal partners and /or client contacts at predetermined intervals to review progress and share information, communicating with client and project team as planned and handle escalations to realize the value articulated and agreed at the time of deal closure.
  • Obtaining the final client sign-off, review engagement deliverable to identify new service offerings that can be used for future engagements and work towards developing those further and provide performance input for the team members.
  • Leading the development and presentation of proposals to address the business issue faced by the client and will assist with developing a project cost model supporting the appropriate level of project profitability to convince the client to engage Infosys.
  • Articulating the differentiators for Infosys to the client, leveraging relationship networks, and bringing out Infosys's value proposition to secure contracts.
  • Supporting partners in negotiating the terms and conditions of the engagement with the client and will coordinate with different units within Infosys to ensure timely closure.
  • Overseeing multiple complex budgets, protecting firm profitability through effective management of the firm's resources, ensuring engagement teams show discipline in core operational processes, and overseeing team compliance with operational guidelines about engagements to ensure smooth practice operations.
Required years of experience, training, technical skills, and other requirements for job performance:
  • The ideal candidate will possess over 9 years of experience in a management or administrative role either with a state Department of labor or consulting practice serving state Department of labor clients.
  • Extensive subject matter understanding of unemployment insurance, paid family medical leave, disability insurance, workforce and/or workforce regulation is required.
  • Candidate must demonstrate exemplary interpersonal and communication skills and the willingness to develop and execute detailed market and capture plans in addition to managing the associated business as described above.

Educational Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a foreign equivalent is required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive, relevant work experience instead of every year of education.
The job entails sitting and working at a computer for extended periods. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email, or face-to-face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.
