Introduction
We are seeking a software engineer to provide feature delivery & Integration support for Threat Detection for IBM zSystems m [TDz] development lifecycle using JavaScript, Java, and, as a future requirement, also Python. Threat Detections provides insight in changes in the data being accessed on IBM zSystems, alerting in the event of any anomalies as compared to known recorded data access events.
The role consists of reactive support in response to issues or customer cases on our Threat Detection offering as well as pro-active support aligned with improving our overall anomaly detection and scoring modules for IBM zSystems.
Your role and responsibilities
- As a member of the Threat Detection for IBM zSystems development team, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the full application stack, developing new features, and implementing new requirements in the backend, application logic and UI. Managing the desired level of automation and integrating the feature delivery into fully automated CI/CD system.

- You are responsible for providing the documentation for our customers as well as providing support to customer support cases and participating in calls with the customers to help resolve any issues a customer might encounter while using our products.
- We are looking for candidates with strong diagnostic, mathematical and statistics skills using industry standard tools and techniques, strong linux skills, strong docker/Kubernetes skills, and a proven background in cloud/OCP based operations.
- Your daily tasks would include resolving alerts on our hosted deployments across various environments, applying security updates in development infrastructure, responding to customer tickets, executing planned changes for the development systems.
- The ideal candidate would have a strong technical aptitude and a flair for picking up new skills

Required education

Required technical and professional expertise
- 2+ years of IT experience as a JavaScript and Java developer
- A strong mathematical background with a good understanding of Data analysis based on established data science techniques.
- 2+ experience working with React.js and Wireframes
- 2+ years of working on Linux environments, with a good knowledge of the vi Editor, crontab and shell scripting.
- Strong foundational knowledge of containerized deployments on Docker, Kubernetes, RedHat OpenShift and RedHat Enterprise Linux
- Some experience in data design and engineering for data science.
- Theoretical knowledge of machine learning and AI model-driven development.
- Some experience in Cloud/OCP based environment oriented DevOpsThe candidate should have a passion for continuous improvement in building knowledge base both technically and professionally
Preferred technical and professional experience
- Some experience working with GitHub
- RHEL certifications would be an advantage as would knowledge of other DevOps tools
- Prior experience with Ansible Automation, Tekton and Observability frameworks
- Strong administrative skills and a good team player
- Proactive posture on key identified areas of product development cycle.
- Experience OR Ability to pick and understand the administration of Cloud deployments and/OR OCP based product development lifecycle
- CI/CD, Scripting and automation skills. z/LPAR administration skills will be an added plus
