Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for the technical approach and implementation of new and existing applications within your workstream. You are a software engineer who is comfortable leading agile development teams in a hands-on way, providing guidance regarding best practices and working in cooperation with your team's federal leadership, architect, Scrum Master, designer, and other engineers. You make informed decisions with input from informed parties at all levels of the organization in order to quickly deliver valuable working software to clients and their users. You are comfortable providing leadership and guidance to less-experienced team members and collaborating with other senior members of your team. You have a passion for high-quality, reliable, and maintainable code. You are agile and retrospective, and not afraid to identify what we are doing wrong so we can fix it, and what we are doing right so we can improve upon it.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Lead teams in research, design, develop, test, build, and coordinate the deployment and integration of software products based on client requirements.
- Possess experience leading teams and proficient in working with several of the following languages and frameworks: Java, Spring Boot, Javascript, Ruby, Rails, ReactJS, Swift, Python/Anaconda, Scala.
- Proficient in working with several of the following platforms: AWS EC2, ECS, EKS, and Lambda, Docker, Swagger, Redis, New Relic, Kubernetes.
- Proficient in developing code, testing, and debugging new software or enhancements to existing software.
- Proficient in writing and maintaining unit and integration tests for all new and changed code.
- Proficient knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL, Oracle RDS, DynamoDB.
- Ability to demonstrate and explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to clearly communicate with both customers and teammates and provide recommendations for improvements to existing software applications.
- Possess and apply expertise to multiple complex work assignments which are broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks.
- Ability to apply a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.
- Consult with project teams and end users to identify application requirements.
- Address problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms.
- Perform feasibility analysis on potential future application projects to inform leadership decisions.
- Assist in the evaluation and recommendation of new and existing technical approaches, tools, platforms, and integration possibilities.
- Participate in development of architectural documentation and provide input to technical and operational program reports.
- Actively participate in and contribute to planning, refinement, estimation, design, retrospective, and technical demo meetings.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience working on software development teams supporting the federal government.
- 5+ years' experience working in an agile development environment, preferably SAFe or Scrum.
