Your role and responsibilities

In this role you are a seasoned software engineer who excels at designing and implementing high-performance, user-centric solutions. You bring a passion for solving complex problems, fostering continuous improvement, and driving innovation. You thrive in agile, fast-paced, and collaborative environments, where your expertise elevates both your team's performance and the quality of your work.

As a Senior Software Development Engineer you will be responsible for the following:

  • Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable software solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and designers, to gather requirements and define solutions.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues across the software lifecycle.
  • Maintain clear and concise documentation for codebases, processes, and system designs.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Champion best practices in software development, including code quality, testing, and CI/CD processes.
  • Participate in live-site de-escalation and incident management as part of the PagerDuty rotation.

Required technical and professional expertise

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of proven experience in enterprise-level software development.
  • Experience with Service Oriented Architectures, modern API designs, and implementations, preferably in object-oriented programming.
  • Expert proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language, such as Java or C#.
  • Familiarity with modern software development methodologies, including Agile/Kanban, CI/CD, and DevOps.
  • Relevant experience in system design with AWS, Azure Cloud services
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to tackle challenging technical issues.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred technical and professional experience

  • Comfortable with fast moving software design and development methodologies.
  • Passionate and driven to design and implement scalable, programmatic solutions in complex system.
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in additional scripting languages, such as Go or Python.
  • Technical leadership experience in building and delivering complex software systems.
  • Robust knowledge of data structures, algorithms, enterprise systems, asynchronous architectures, and object-oriented programming.
  • Demonstrated experience with best SDLC practices: coding standards, reviews, code management, build processes, and testing.
  • Experience building large applications at scale using modern best-practices.
  • Relevant experience in design and implementation of applications with AI / ML capabilities.
  • Previous experience mentoring or leading junior engineers.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
