Overview
Mastercard's SpendingPulse team within the Economics & Locations Program is seeking a Senior Software Engineer. In this role you will bring your full stack software development skills to design, build, and scale the family of SpendingPulse applications to provide economic insights to our customers. Our daily tasks vary from further development of existing applications to designing and building new ones that provide fresh insights and target different customers. We work with industry standard web technologies and analyze large datasets using Big Data technologies within Hadoop and MS SQL Server to create scalable, high-performance solutions. The day-to-day tech stack you'll work in includes MS SQL Server, ASP.NET Core MVC, React, Redux, and Typescript, with potential exposure to Hadoop and Databricks. We are looking for an innovative software engineer who can contribute to designing and building large features and thrive in a fast-paced, agile team. This individual will be part of a large, cross-functional team and collaborate closely with our Customer Experience, Product Management, Data Engineering, and Analytics teams, as well as our Software Engineering teams in both Prague and the United States.

Position Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will:
Scope, design, implement, and test complex features
Drive performance, reliability, and readability in our code base, by writing and reviewing code
Mentor junior software engineers and teammates
Drive innovative improvements to team development processes
Partner with Product Managers to develop a deep understanding of users and use cases and apply that knowledge to scoping and building new modules and features
Participate in development cycles with an agile mindset, ensuring flexibility and responsiveness to changing priorities
Collaborate with Data Scientists and Data Engineers to come up with best solutions

Ideal Candidate Qualifications
Software engineering experience in an agile production environment
Experience participating in design and implementation of complex features in enterprise
Experience working with other developers on large projects
Experience with object-oriented languages, front-end frameworks, and/or relational database technologies
Strong technologist eager to learn new technologies and frameworks
Customer-centric development approach
Strong collaboration skills with experience collaborating with people across various roles around the globe
Motivation, creativity, self-direction, and desire to thrive on small project teams
Superior academic record with a degree in Computer Science or related technical field
* Strong written and verbal English communication skills
