Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Platform Engineer within IBM Client Engineering, you'll play a key role in delivering unique client co-
creation experiences to accelerate their transformation. You'll be involved in all aspects of integrated
solutions, from identifying requirements to making technical decisions that impact the business case. Your
role as a Platform Engineer will be to work with cross-functional teams to realize the full potential of our
hybrid cloud and AI solutions to prove business value to our clients.

- Leverage contemporary hybrid cloud skills (e.g., AI, analytics, DevOps, DevSecOps, IaC, automation, security, networking, and storage) with deep industry expertise and an understanding of your clients' businesses.
- Define and communicate the unique value of IBM's technology, both technically and commercially.
- Participate in client sessions that include a range of public and hybrid cloud technologies, such as Red Hat OpenShift, IBM Cloud Paks, and Kubernetes.
- Support the solutions architecture plan and be a hands-on "builder" during client-facing engagements.
- Advice on solution architecture to align with platform best practices, with a focus on our clients target environment to ease transition to deployment.
- Work with deployment teams to transition platform assets and information to provide seamless transitions for our clients.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Hands-on experience with a wide range of cloud and AI technologies.
- Practical knowledge and direct experience with virtualized on-premise and cloud-based computing platforms.
- Experience in building application and infrastructure deployment automation workflows.
- Proven track record in participating in customer-facing technical solutions teams across various cloud architectures.
- Technical experience in a cloud-related domain such as Data/Analytics, Data Science, Security, or other cloud-native, hybrid, or public-cloud technology.
- Understanding and practical application of Agile best practices.
- Proficient in at least one common cloud native programming language (Java, Python, HCL, Rust, Ansible, etc.)
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- At least 1 year in a technical operations role, such as site reliability or platform engineering, in hybrid-cloud and on-premise environments.
- Experience in deploying and operating solutions on AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, or Google Cloud.
- Experience as a Solution Architect or in a public cloud consultant role.
- Experience in developing collaborative client relationships at all levels within organizations.Knowledge of Well-Architected Frameworks from AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud, or Google Cloud.
- Relevant technical certifications (e.g., CNCF, AWS, IBM Cloud, Azure, Google Cloud, DevOps).
- Experience working in dynamic team environments and cross-functionally with teams such as
- Product Management, Engineering, and Customer Success.
