Your Role and Responsibilities
Jira Systems Administrator. The specialist will focus on setting up and configuring Jira projects, Jira Service Management service desks, and Jira Assets (formerly known as Jira Insight) for a specific initiative that involves the management and tracking of business publication licenses and subscriptions. In this role, you will collaborate closely with business partners and vendors to elicit and document requirements, ensuring the successful delivery of our project.

Job Description Details:
  • Set Up and Configuration:
  • Configure and manage Jira projects, including workflows, custom fields, dashboards, and permissions.
  • Set up and configure Jira Service Management service desks, ensuring alignment with business processes.
  • Set up and configure Jira Assets, ensuring comprehensive asset management and tracking.
  • Collaborative Requirements Gathering:
  • Work closely with business partners and vendors (including Atlassian) to understand, document, and translate business requirements into Jira technical specifications.
  • Actively participate in requirement-gathering sessions and workshops.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Jira Expertise:
  • Extensive experience in setting up and configuring Jira projects, including workflows, custom fields, permissions, and dashboards.
  • Strong skills in Jira Service Management setup and configuration.
  • Practical experience with Jira Assets (formerly known as Jira Insight) setup, configuration, and management.

Collaboration:
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with business partners and vendors to elicit, document, and validate requirements.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate technical details to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Additional Tools and Technologies:
  • Familiarity with other Atlassian products like Confluence is a plus.
  • Understanding of scripting and automation within Jira using tools like ScriptRunner.
  • Experience with REST API integration for Jira would be beneficial, but not required.
  • Project Management:
  • Basic understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines concurrently.
Work Environment:
  • This role will be remote, based out of the Mexico Dedicated Center (MxDC), and will require regular virtual meetings.
Support:
  • This role includes a crucial post-launch support phase to ensure smooth operation, address issues, and implement any necessary changes or enhancements.
  • The dedicated resource will also liaise with the internal NextEra team responsible for the Atlassian platform, who has deep domain knowledge of Jira and Jira Service Management, ensuring continuity and knowledge transfer.
