Your Role and Responsibilities

The individual will be responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting Java based components and interfaces and have understanding of various coding methodologies and tools and know when to apply each method to achieve the desired outcomes. The ideal candidate must display good written and oral skills with demonstrated interpersonal and organization abilities and must be able to work in a varied, fast paced environment.

• Over 4 years of experience developing Java / Java Enterprise solutions.
• Proficient in Java SE (Java 8+), with strong OOP principles.
• Advanced Java backend programming experience.
• At least 2 years of experience with Spring Framework, Quarkus, Micronaut or Jakarta EE.
• At least 2 years of experience with JPA-based frameworks (such as Hibernate or EclipseLink).
• Experience with modern Java build tools (Maven or Gradle).
• Experience with microservices / microservice architecture and technologies like Docker, Podman and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with RESTful web services, API design and OpenAPI specification.
• Knowledge of JSON, YAML and XML formats.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate in a globally distributed team.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized.
• Adaptable and quick to learn new technologies.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Development Tools and Practices:
• Experience with version control systems (preferably Git).

• Experience with cloud platforms (IBM Cloud, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
• Database Skills:
• Understanding of database management systems, including relational databases.
• Intermediate to advanced SQL knowledge.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, MS SQL or Oracle.

• The ability to communicate in German is a major advantage.
