Introduction

As an IBM Benefits Analyst, you will be a reliable and trusted resource for analyzing and executing on core delivery activities for enterprise health and wellness benefits programs. We seek a growth-oriented professional with a positive attitude who will support essential and innovative IBM HR benefits programs that promote enhanced employee experience, anticipate workforce needs, and align with the IBM business landscape.

Benefits programs managed through this role include the employee assistance program for Canada as well as various North American voluntary benefit programs. This role will also partner with Benefits Associate colleagues to co-deliver on projects and initiatives across the North America Health Benefits organization and will play a key role in health promotion communications. The Benefits Analyst will hold the primary responsibility for overseeing North America Health Benefits internal compliance reporting and related benefits controls projects.

Your role and responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Implement benefit program strategies for managed benefits in alignment with IBM business objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with other team members, including team members within and outside of the benefits organization, to support overall strategic and transformational activities.
  • Manage benefits contracts, including renewals and amendments, and partner with Procurement on competitive benchmarking and bids.
  • Liaison with consultants, brokers, insurance carriers and outsourced benefits administration vendors on benefits programs renewals, revisions and deployment of benefits program offerings.
  • Create and promote employee-centric, timely, and meaningful health promotion communications, in partnership with external vendors where appropriate, and foster education and awareness of benefit offerings using available technological solutions.
  • Oversee departmental business controls and compliance reporting for North America Health Benefits programs, including reporting of activities relating to vendor management. Collaborate with other regional benefits controls focals on global controls projects and support internal and external audits where required.
  • Support AI-driven solutions to improve employee experience in partnership with HR Services and other teams.
  • Manage overall vendor spending in partnership with IBM Finance.
  • Manage escalations and support resolutions for employee concerns.
  • Support simplification and automation of processes.

Required education

High School Diploma/GED

Preferred education

Bachelor's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise

  • 2+ years of experience with benefits programs design and/or delivery or related human resources, business or consulting experience
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Vendor management experience
  • Familiarity with business controls and regulatory compliance in either a US or Canadian environment
  • Experience executing projects with cross-functional internal and external teams
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment with tight turnaround times with the ability to prioritize work when there are competing demands and urgent business needs
  • Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
  • Ability to organize, analyze, interpret and explain data findings
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment

Preferred technical and professional experience

  • Experience with contracts and renewals
  • Knowledge and usage of AI solutions
  • Current benefits knowledge through participation in ongoing educational programs, professional societies, etc.
  • Experience with technology projects and user testing
