Your role and responsibilities
As an AWS DevOps Engineer at IBM, you'll work with clients to co-create solutions to major real-world challenges by using best practice technologies, tools, techniques, and products to translate system requirements into the design and development of customized systems. In your role, you may be responsible for:
- Working across the entire system architecture to design, develop, and support high quality, scalable products and interfaces for our clients.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and define technical specifications for generative AI projects.
- Employing IBM's Design Thinking to create products that provide a great user experience along with high performance, security, quality, and stability.
- Working with a variety of relational databases (SQL, Postgres, DB2, MongoDB), operating systems (Linux, Windows, iOS, Android), and modern UI frameworks (Backbone.js, AngularJS, React, Ember.js, Bootstrap, and JQuery).
- Creating everything from mockups and UI components to algorithms and data structures as you deliver a viable product.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage AWS DevOps services, including CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CloudFormation, and Lambda.
- Configure and maintain version control using Git and GitHub.
- Implement and oversee continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize development processes and tooling.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in AWS DevOps environments.
- Ensure all DevOps practices comply with public sector regulations and standards.
- Mentor team members on AWS and DevOps best practices.

Preferred technical and professional experience
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. An advanced degree is a plus.
- Professional experience as a AWS DevOps Engineer specializing in AWS services.
- Proven experience in the public sector or government projects, preferably in a similar role.
- Proficiency in AWS services, including AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, CloudFormation, and Lambda.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools, such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of public sector regulations and standards relevant to software development and DevOps.
