The Accelerated Value Leader (AVL) is responsible directly to one (or more) assigned Accelerated Value clients depending upon the contract scope. The AVL becomes a key member of the IBM account team and is tasked to ensure that assigned solutions, projects and business outcomes are achieved as indicated in the client contract. The AVL is measured on the success in meeting specific client outcomes and overall client satisfaction. The Accelerated Value Leader is located either remotely or on-site. They can be responsible for one or more AVP customers.

Your role and responsibilities
Core responsibilities for the Accelerated Value Leader include the following:
- Serves as a key trusted advisor to the client for the assigned contractual solutions, projects, and business outcomes.
- Significant account management and the ability to project manage many internal and external team members, very often in a complex matrix. It is not unusual for the AVL to be leading IBM, client, partners, and third-party vendors to a common outcome.
- Functionally, the AVL manages the Accelerated Value Specialists (AVS) including task assignment and overall direction as related to the account.
- The ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management from technical managers to C-level executives.
- The ability to facilitate and coordinate complex client technical challenges by leveraging IBM, client, partners, and third-party vendors.
- Escalation management when required when necessary, using established relationships both inside and outside IBM.
- Provides regular status updates and reporting to measure the AVP team against the agreed business outcomes based upon a client determined cadence.
- Key facilitator leveraging both IBM, partners and third parties
- Defect and product release management
- Migration planning to new products, cloud or open source
- Solution and product release management
- Skills sharing and training included as part of the AVP contract
Required education
Bachelor's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise
Technical account management is a key skill. The AVL must be able to understand current technologies but also can translate into simple to understand terms.
Account Management and Leadership:
• Conduct regular communication with technical and non-technical contacts associated with the assigned customer, developers, advanced support, marketing, sales and other product services within IBM.
• Negotiation skills to overcome presented obstacles within a complex reporting matrix.
• Ability to act as the AVP/IBM representative in communications and negotiations with both the client, partner, third party and internal IBM contacts.
• Provide technical direction to peers, customers and field personnel as required.
• Act as a member of the customer's technical team to expedite the resolution of reported issues and concerns while minimizing critical situations and promoting customer satisfaction.
Communication
• Frequent client contact by phone, text, application (e.g., Slack) or in person with technical and non-technical clients contacts, including senior and executive management.
• Written and verbal executive communication skills. Acts as the technical representative for project status, critical issues, and escalation management.
