Your role and responsibilities

IBM Power is a family of servers that are based on IBM Power processors and are capable of running IBM AIX, Linux and IBM i. IBM Power is the #1 market share server in the UNIX server market and provides superior virtualization and management features for flexibility, and security with better isolation and integrated stack in hybrid cloud environment. Power PTS (Partner Technical Specialist) works with IBM partners to deliver IBM Power's technical value to clients and strive for client success and IBM success. Additionally, Additionally, Power PTS will expand partners skills set for partners success with continuous skill transfer of new technology, working closely with Power sellers.

Ultimately, Power PTS(Partner Technical Specialist), as a Technical Sales Consultant for IBM Power servers is to work with Clients and their Partners to identify business opportunities thru technical engagements such as seminar, demo, PoX(Proof of eXperience), workshop in order to develop optimal server architecture, and progress technical sales that results in client success and IBM success.

Main role is to acquire the latest technologies is essential, and through this, Power PTS identify business opportunities, make progress through technical engagements, and dedicate to the growth of clients and IBM.

  • Continuous skill development for new technologies of Power servers including overall IT technologies and industrial technologies
  • Working with Clients and their Partners, influence clients' technology strategy through IBM Power Systems Solution proposals, technical proofs (POX's) and compelling value propositions
  • Win with Partners against competitors by co-developing a superior technical solutions of Power systems that deliver maximum client business value
  • Identify business opportunities in Power PTS clients
  • Proactively identify and engage with Partners to progress Power Servers opportunities in Power PTS's territory resulting in the successful sales and deployment of IBM Power Servers Solutions
  • Advocate the architectures that demonstrate the business value of IBM Power Servers
  • Proactively engage with the other Partners roles to grow the technical capability of Ecosystem Partners in Power Servers specialty in order to scale the IBM Power Servers business in Power PTS's clients

Required education

Bachelor's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise

  • An active and positive attitude even if there are trials and errors, collaboration mindset for one team
  • Good spoken and written Korean/English skills
  • Good Presentation skills
  • Ability to continuously study new technologies and always share the content with clients, partners, and colleagues
  • Good understanding of IT infrastructures such as Cloud, Storage and Network system
