About The Role
The Sr. Real Estate paralegal is responsible for assisting the Attorney with land sales, title review, office and retail leasing, commercial contracts, and other duties as needed by the Attorney for our Summerlin master-planned community. The selected candidate must be comfortable assisting with closings and dealing with title companies, internal business stakeholders, lawyers, sophisticated real estate purchasers, and executives with The Howard Hughes Corporation. Sensible discretion in decision making and dealing with a wide variety of development professionals is necessary.
What You Will Do
- Prepare and review contracts, purchase agreements, leases, deeds, and other real estate transaction documents.
- Conduct due diligence, including title review of recorded documents and analyzing permitted use restrictions.
- Conduct legal research on real estate laws, regulations, and case law as needed to support matters.
- Organize and maintain transaction files, both physical and electronic, ensuring all documents are filed correctly and are easily accessible.
- Generate reports and summaries related to transaction status, timelines, and issues.
- Provide training and support to junior paralegals or new team members.
- Manages all assigned matters regarding the leasing of office and retail real estate including, but not limited to, preparing lease agreements, amendments, consent approvals for assignments/subleases, notice letters to tenants, and other legal documentation.
- Assist with and monitor contract execution process, including use of DocuSign software.
- Other duties as assigned.
About You
- Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
- Paralegal certification preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of related legal experience in a law firm or in a corporate legal department.
- Must have paralegal experience in the commercial real estate industry.
- Familiarity with legal contracts and related terminology.
- Professional interaction with attorneys, clients and vendors.
- Build positive working relationships with employees at all levels within the organization.
- Exercise sound judgment when making decisions.
- Work overtime as required.
- Able to meet deadlines.
- Effectively work with minimal supervision.
