Mission statement:

As the Hub Project Manager, you will be part of Hub Asia Pacific Middle East and Africa team, BU Transformers, Hitachi Energy. You will be required to ensure all project management activities for projects in responsibility are developing and executing in accordance with company procedures, contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, cost and profitability targets, and scheduling targets, in coordination with all factories, service units and customer interfaces.

Your responsibilities

  • You will be leading implementation of continuous improvements for the project execution strategy for the Hub, local or regional project operation, for the factories, service units and customer interfaces, under the guidance of the Hub Operations Managers and leading implementation of continuous improvements for the project execution strategy for the Hub, local or regional project operation, for the factories, service units and customer interfaces, under the guidance of the Hub Operations Managers, providing reports and updating to senior management on project status, risks, and opportunities.
  • You will be leading and oversees the project execution teams at a Hub level and at local levels, ensuring that policies are consistently followed, developing, customizing and continuously improves standard process and work instructions by adopting and external best practices, ensuring that lessons learned from project execution are analyzed and conclusions are incorporated in continuous improvement actions.
  • You will be participating in the budgeting process, jointly with Hub operation managers, local factory/service/sales managers, and controllers, participating in sales and operations planning with other members of the HUB or factories, service units and customer interfacing teams and taking actions to close potential gaps in project execution capacity.
  • You will be supervising project execution and performance management through project reviews with management and project managers to ensure contract fulfilment and approves any project deviations, taking an active role in resolving escalated issues, especially those raised by the customer, ensuring the portfolio of projects follows good methodology and execution practices in accordance with internal standard procedures and projects are closed as per contracts entered with customers.
  • You will conduct regular project reviews to assess progress, identify risks, and ensure project objectives are on track, provide guidance and support to project teams to ensure they have the necessary tools, resources, and information to deliver successful projects, ensure that projects consistently apply contract and claims management, in accordance with policies and contractual agreements.
  • You will build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, serve as an escalation point for individual and systemic project management issues within the project execution team, validate and support that adequate HSE measure are taken in the respective project operations functions and that an HSE culture is implemented and maintained in the organization, coordinate and facilitate project status update meetings, ensure effective communication and collaboration between project teams and stakeholders.
  • You will be ensuring that the area of responsibility is structured to fit the business model, sufficiently staffed with skilled resources, and directed appropriately, guiding, motivating, and developing direct and indirect reports within HR policies, overseeing competency assessments and ensuring that project staff is licensed and certified appropriately.
  • You will be leading and coaching the project execution team to achieve business objectives, i.e., to drive efficiency and effectiveness, improve cash flow, revenue, and profitability, defining organization of the project in coordination with the Project Manager by assigning project team members to projects based on competencies, customers, and availability.

Your background:

  • You hold bachelor's degree with strong technical background (project management qualifications are a plus).
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in relevant industry is preferred.
  • Proven experience in project management, preferably as a Senior Project Manager or similar role.
  • Adequate level of Project Management Certification
  • Ability to guide a team of project and other managers.
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in project deliverables.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent collaboration and work with cross functional & cross-cultural team.
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks & challenges.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English language & cross-cultural understanding are required.
