Are you a seasoned professional in facility maintenance with a knack for managing complex equipment and building systems? Hitachi Energy is seeking a dedicated Facility and Equipment Manager to join our team at the Stoney Creek Transformer Repair Factory. This role requires on-site presence most days, ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilities and equipment.
As the Facility and Equipment Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operation of all building facilities and equipment at our Stoney Creek site. Your role is crucial in maintaining the efficiency and safety of our operations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the maintenance, repair, and operation of all building facilities and equipment.
- Oversee the preventative maintenance program for shop equipment and building components.
- Schedule and supervise emergency repairs to critical equipment.
- Maintain an inventory of commonly used components for shop equipment (drive belts, saw blades, etc.).
- Conduct regular inspections of the building and major equipment.
- Collaborate with the purchaser to onboard new contractors.
- Obtain comparative quotes from multiple contractors to ensure cost savings.
- Supervise contractors on-site to ensure compliance with Hitachi Energy HSE policies and the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Ensure building and equipment compliance with government regulations.
- Perform minor repairs as needed (paint touch-ups, installation of posters/signs, etc.).
- Collaborate with other departments to support operational needs.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, technologist diploma, or building trade certification.
- 5+ years of experience in facility maintenance.
- Preferably with building contractor or construction experience.
- Superior administrative, planning, organizational, and follow-up skills.
