We are now looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer at Hitachi Energy. You will be part of a dedicated and skilled commissioning team within our Grid Integration business - Nordic Cluster (Finland, Sweden and Denmark). As a commissioning engineer, you are accountable for pre-commissioning and commissioning activities in our projects (e.g. HV substations for utilities, industry, data centers, etc.). You will also have opportunities to improve our quality and cost footprint by contributing to the base design platform, our commissioning and engineering processes, and tools.

Your responsibilities
- Perform the testing and commissioning of HV & MV Substations, including HV/MV switchgears, power and aux transformers, AC & DC auxiliary systems, control and protection systems, etc.
- Take part in pre-commissioning meetings, commissioning planning activities and documentation preparation (e.g. FAT documentation, Site ITPs & ITRs, Method Statements, Control programs, etc.).
- Organize and perform FAT of C&P equipment in our test lab.
- Follow the instructions of electrical safety and other HSE instructions in accordance with Hitachi/customer requirements.
- Coordinate on-site commissioning activities together with Project Manager, Site Manager and Project Manager Engineering and other functions involved.
- Support tendering by providing commissioning plan and time/cost estimation.
- Act as commissioning leader/manager in particular projects, if appointed.
- Develop entry-level engineers through the sharing of knowledge and experience.

Your background
- A Bachelor's Degree or above in the area of electrical engineering or similar
- A few years of working experience with commissioning of Substations.
- Strong competence on the on-site testing of key components in Substation.
- Experience in settings/configuring and testing of the relay protection (e.g. RET, REB, REF series, or other vendors IEDs)
- Experience in commissioning of data centers substations is a plus (e.g. Microsoft, Google, Apple)
- Experience and knowledge of testing in digital substations according to IEC 61850 is a plus.
- Experience in substation secondary design role, or as PME (Lead engineer) role is a plus.
- Experience in substation engineering projects from tendering stage all the way to FAT testing and on-site implementation - SAT.
- You have a strong sense of safety, quality and responsibility and are willing to share knowledge and experience.
- You are fluent in English written and spoken alike. Knowledge of Finnish (or Swedish or Danish) language is a plus.
