The Opportunity:
Hitachi Energy Grid Automation team provide the most complete digital portfolio in the industry, offering our customers with end-to-end solutions. Combining our products with our exceptional expertise allows us to provide innovative solutions to energize the digital grid. The Commercial Operations Specialist has a broad base of responsibilities related to the composition and processing of commercial transactions with the primary responsibility of efficiently delivering high quality winning deal proposals and solutions as part of the Commercial Operations (ComOps) team.
Successful candidate will be based in their respective home country i.e. Malaysia or Australia.
How you'll make an impact:
- You will ensure efficient execution of deals through internal bids and proposal processes, risk management process, optimal deal cycle times and precise execution, key liaison and support point for all internal teams (Sales, Legal, Finance, Operations).
- You will support sales processes in Salesforce application, responsible for managing and advising on deal schedules and follow-up with internal stakeholders, oversee the Contracting, Contract Filing, reference and Signing Process and through Salesforce, generate and customize standard documents in-line with Legal, Finance, Operations, etc.
- You will validate customer orders against quote / contract documentation, order documents & approvals, facilitate change to documentation following customer feedback, via Sales team and continuous learning and benchmarking against the market to improve competitiveness of offerings.
- You will support active, holistic, clear, transparent, and strategic decision making, build and execute the standard workflows for transactions from inception to bidding and contracting and single point of contact to handover from Sales to Operations (e.g. Implementation teams and Project Managers), assist peers to improve their Commercial Operations skills to improve capability of the team and facilitate faster, better deal execution.
- You will ensure safe working procedures and practices are always followed including the wearing and maintenance of assigned Personal Protective Equipment, attendance at required health, safety and environment training, report injury, incidents, hazards and near miss events, model safe work behaviors in all aspects of work and actively identify hazards and risk controls.

Your background:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial or technical experience, preferably with software automation, commercial management, engineering.
- Knowledge of / background in software and expertise in targeted industries such as Power Generation, Transmission, Asset Monitoring, Mining, and Advanced Analytics, to name a few.
- Knowledge and experience with tendering, bids & proposal , risk management, contracting and terms and conditions.
- Good to have enterprise software knowledge - Salesforce , Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills with outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills.
