Field Support Operations Specialist

JOB OVERVIEW:

As a Field Support Operations Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in supporting your respective Zone's operational success. You will be responsible for supporting and reporting on various aspects of Henry Schein's operational policies and procedures. This can include but is not limited to coordinating with different departments, optimizing operational workflow, ensuring inventory compliance, presenting to leadership, and reconciling operational errors. This position will lead through influence and hold accountable to results.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage daily reports to ensure operational policy, procedure and best practice is being withheld for assigned Zone(s).
  • Provide daily consultation and support to District/Zone Management in their day-to-day operations.
  • Provide data and insight to Management with recommended solutions/explanations to address operational inconsistencies across the Zone.
  • Report on Zone's key performance indicators to identify historical and trending data relating to operational performance.
  • Oversee inventory procedures in assigned Zone by ensuring monthly cycle counts and bi-annual full counts are completed accurately.
  • Support Operations Governance team by auditing the X-ray installation and electronic document submission process.
  • Collaborate with team members and cross functional departments to resolve operational issues and optimize workflow.
  • Reduce operational costs by reconciling missing, lost, and wrongfully transacted inventory.
  • Identify opportunities and best practices that are associated with reducing operational costs and maximizing the customer experience.
  • Travel to locations in assigned Zone to uncover operational inefficiencies in both Henry Schein and 3PL facilities. Report findings to management with suggested action plan to eliminate errors and inefficiencies.
  • Engage in annual projects to assist company initiatives.
  • Support Field Operations team with system process knowledge and insight.
  • Transact in system(s) to assist in the sales procurement, receiving, return, warranty and consignment process.
  • Reduce depreciated, obsolete inventory by working with Zone leadership to develop ways to liquidate in order to save on operational costs.
  • Oversee Zone's systematic locations to ensure inventory is accurately represented and accounted for.

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Advanced in Microsoft Software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Prior experience in overseeing operational processes and procedures within the distribution industry. Preferred Dental industry.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

Typically 2 to 4 or more years of increasing responsibility in terms of any applicable professional experience. 3 years combined experience in equipment installation, purchasing and customer service, or the equivalent required.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

Typically a Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in related discipline.

TRAVEL / PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

30% travel required. No special physical demands required. This position is field based. If the individual in this role lives within commuting distance to an existing HSD center, the TSM works out of the center. If the individual in this role does not live within commuting distance to an existing HSD center, the TSM telecommutes.
