Workman Publishing is seeking a Digital Content and Advertising Manager to join our Digital Marketing team to work within both email marketing and digital content creation spaces. In this unique position, you will have the chance to work across Workman, Artisan, Black Dog & Leventhal, and Workman Kids imprints at Workman Publishing. The Digital Content and Advertising Manager will report to the Director of Digital Marketing and work alongside a fellow Digital Marketing Manager. A fast-learning, self-starter with strong creative vision, copywriting skills, a knack for content creation, and great project management skills are a must. Email marketing experience is good to have but not required.
This is a NYC-based opportunity. Please note our current hybrid model is 3 days in-office, 2 days working from home.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own content creation for digital ad campaigns on a title-by-title basis for assigned frontlist and backlist titles. This includes ideation, copywriting, working with Creative Services/Freelancers, and light content creation for social ads as needed.
- Ideation, copywriting, and project management of video content from beginning to end; working closely with assigned title marketers and freelancers/Creative Services.
- Own director-to-consumer email marketing for editorial-focused imprint lists. This includes working closely with the Director of Digital Marketing and title marketers to manage and create editorial calendars, list growth, building, deploying, and reporting on emails as well as light asset creation when needed.
- Understanding, staying up to date on, and working within both ESP and ad platform parameters through collaboration with Central Marketing, the digital marketing team, and self-directed discovery.
- Coordinate with Central Marketing on imprint title nominations for Hachette Book Group initiatives at large.
- Curate/update Workman pages on hachettebookgroup.com as it relates to seasonal promotions and publication schedules for email marketing and advertising
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- 5+ years of digital marketing experience.
- Excellent copywriting skills, particularly in the advertising and email marketing space—meaning you have honed your ability to take on the tone and voice of any kind of product/brand.
- Mid-level experience using a design program such as Canva or Photoshop to create digital assets.
- Ability to excel within a fast-paced environment.
- A critical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills
- A great communicator who can deftly work with many different leaders and divisions.
- Experience managing complex projects with multiple interdependencies and diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively while also maintaining accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
- Experience with programmatic ad management not required, but a plus.
- Experience with Braze or any ESP platform not required, but a big plus.
The compensation for this position is $65,000-$75,000. There may be times that you will be required (or requested) to work overtime due to the nature of your role or exceptional workload issues or special projects.
