We are currently looking for an experienced QHSE Advisor to join us at our JD Go Outdoors site at Trafford Park, Manchester. You'll take responsibility for all thing's health and safety at site and help push our road to zero campaign. We're looking for someone to champion and promote occupational health, safety and environmental awareness throughout the site whilst always leading from the front.

The role is being offered on a full-time, permanent basis. The hours of work will be Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00. Flexibility will be needed on occasion; this is logistics after all!

You'll be paid a salary of up to £35,000 per annum (if NEBOSH qualified). What you'll do on a typical day:
  • Support the QHSE Manager in the management of health and safety across the site, including supporting fire evacuations, undertaking audits and submitting any required reports
  • Provide training to the management team, ensuring all key personnel are adequately trained in subjects such as incident investigation and fire safety management
  • Compile data, statistics and compliance reports to identify site trends as required
  • Advise and assist where required with all on-going investigations into all accidents, incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and ensuring all actions are completed in the sites agreed SLA timings

What you need to succeed at GXO:
  • NEBOSH General Certificate, with a strong working knowledge of H&S Law and fire legislation - we are open to consider applications without NEBOSH, however the salary will be reflective of this
  • Experience working at a similar level within a logistics/warehousing environment, ideally within 3PL
  • Experience of assisting with production of risk assessments and associated documents
  • Confidence engaging with colleagues at all levels, as well as the ability to build strong working relationships with senior management and customers alike
