Position: Associate Food Scientist.
Location: Monterrey, Nuevo León.
Summary:
- Supports Griffith Foods North America raw material technical excellence through execution of GPE raw material projects and supplier technical engagement and local supply chain support with respect to raw materials.
Major duties & Responsibilities:
- Functions as a scientist to support and evaluate suitability of alternate/secondary supply raw materials in execution of the GPE raw material strategy and/or raw material emergencies.
- Responsible for evaluation and finished product testing of alternate and secondary suppliers and raw materials identified for SKU consolidation.
- Supports document review and specification management in conjunction with QS and Regulatory Teams.
- Collaborates with Commercial Team Scientists and Sensory Scientist to plan, prioritize and execute finished product validation.
- Prepares and routes final report documentation.
- Communicates with suppliers, purchasing team and GPE team throughout project progress.
- Participates in Supply Chain raw material initiatives, including raw material emergency projects and raw material hold resolution.
- Applies scientific and engineering principles in research, development, production technology, quality control, packaging, processing and utilization of foods.
- Works within assigned priorities, projects and timelines.
- Uses technical and problem solving skills to approach projects.
- Communicates project progress internally.
- Maintains GLP's, GMP's and all required laboratory records, using electronic systems and written protocols.
- Represents Product Development in professional business relationships with Griffith Foods' client and supplier base.
- Responsible for maintaining the security of all information regarding product formulae and related confidential information.
Knowledge and Experience:
- BS/BA in Food Science or related technical degree.
- 1-3 years in Research & Development, application/bench work is an asset.
- Fully bilinigual.
