The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing revenue growth with new clients via self-driven activities and in collaboration with the Sales team and the Customer Service team.
Job Responsibilities include:
- Prospect for appointments via phone and email with new clients within Wausau's territory
- Meet with prospects and solicit appointments (in person or virtually)
- Research, organize, document, and maintain divisional prospect database
- Verify leads to determine size, business fit, competition, industry niche and needs
- Make calls with account managers at prospects with significant sales potential
- Support Sales Manager, Technical Director, and Customer Service Supervisor with special projects

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Minimum of an Associate degree with a preferred 4 year post high school education or comparable industry-related work experience
- Strong people and sales skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong time management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Computer skills including the ability to use WORD and EXCEL programs, Social Media, and video conference platforms
- Working knowledge of the corrugated packaging industry and all phases of a corrugated plant
- Ability to audit current packaging applications and designs an to propose potential designs
